Judge: Mr Vic Jones ‘Waratah’ Critiques:

Thank you for the opportunity to judge your dogs. After my comments on individual dogs, I

found many animals lacking forechest, too many with feet problems such as loose or not

catlike, and a lot of east west fronts etc, which in turn alters good front movement.

A few dogs with throatiness, a number being too fat which in turn spoils good body shape

and today only had one dog with an incorrect bite.

My decisions may not have made some owners happy but please remember the results are

only my opinion, the Baby Puppy in Show was not an easy choice I had a couple of nice

puppies in the class.

My Best in Show was awarded to a bitch who had a couple of minor issues I would have

liked a little better - little less body weight and perhaps a slightly more turn in stifle, but

overall she won it with ease my Reserve in Show and Veteran he is a nice dog he out moved

all the other male dogs.

Nice little red and white dog which has a nice head, good body and very happy baby puppy.

I preferred this puppy over the second place getter but that decision made only on movement.

2nd MACDOLLY REMEMBER THE TIME (Blue Roan)

No doubt is from the same litter as the winner as they look very much alike.

Both happy little dogs, nice heads, good bodies and I think they look nice and could win well as adults.

3rd SPEZIA IRISH BY DESIGN (Blue Roan)

A dog that looks like a whole month and half older. I think the other two pups have better toplines but no

doubt at this stage this dog could go on and do his fair share of winning.

Nice little black and I think its shorter in the back than the second place dog.

I do like the first dogs movement around ring nicely trained at this age and well behaved.

Longer in the back than the first place dog.

Lovely head and good expression, good front and feet, good neck to shoulder and good topline.

Not quite as attractive as the first dog, also longer in the back and movement not good, needs bit more

training but still a good dog.

Quite a nice attractive dog, nice head, good colouring, overall he’s a nice dog.

Good handler who tries to hide the throatiness, but it’s there.

Feet I’d like to see a little tighter, but overall a smart looking dog and a very good mover.

Number of items I like about the dog, and there’s a number I’m not real happy with.

Bit soft in the hind muscles. I’d like to see, the feet could be a bit tighter. That cowlick on the nose really

spoils him. Yes. I’m critical of all sorts of dogs, and I also appreciate the good points on him.

Nice sweet head, good stop, short back. Doesn’t quite move as nicely as the other dog at the moment, but

I’m sure with age that will improve and I haven’t penalised today for movement.

Head is not evenly balanced, it looks to me a little heavy. Feet are not the best.

Longer in back than the winning dog. It is the better mover, but that’s only because I believe its age.

Head’s not as sweet as the golden. A little disobedient and needs a lot more training.

Handler can’t control it. Bit longer in the back than the golden, but with a little bit more training you might

be able to make it a little bit better than it is today.
