McKinley Middle- High School Student of the Month Criteria
(Please note) The student may be nominated by individual teachers and/or grade level/content
teams. If a team nominates a student only one form has to be submitted. Each month one student per grade level is selected as the grade level student of the month. The criteria for the selection are listed below.
1-Academic Performance-- including grades, class participation, completion of assignments * Improvement in or good grades (not necessarily A honor roll, non-honor roll students should receive first consideration- an increase) 2-Character-- displays one/some or all of the following: adaptability, compassion, contemplation, honesty, initiative, loyalty, optimism, perseverance, respect, responsibility, and trustworthiness. Demonstrates responsibility
3-Behavior-- obeys rules, shows respect to peers and authority, well mannered; includes behavior both inside and outside of the classroom and has not received any referrals or has gone a certain length of time with improve behavior and has not acquired additional referrals. Over all Attitude toward others and learning 4- Effort-- works hard and is persistence.
5-Social Relationship-- displays leadership, willingness to help peers, shows respect to others. Good citizenship or improvement in citizenship. Respectful to peers and teachers
6-Attendance-- attends school regularly and arrives to school and classes on time or displays a positive improvement in attendance
Each month the selected candidate's picture and biography will be posted in the school's main office, their name posted on the school's website, they will receive a McK-Student of the Month $5.00 gift card to McDonalds.
Submitted names will be drawn from the McKinley Gold bug bowl to select the winner.
Every classroom teacher should nominate at least one student per year.
