Environmental Monitoring Results Summary – Centennial Lidsdale Siding

INTRODUCTION

As per conditions M1 to M6 of EPL 5129, this report summarises environmental monitoring results for Lidsdale Siding Coal Loading Facility (Lidsdale Siding) for the August 2018 period. Monitoring sites are shown in Appendix 1. A summary of the licence information is provided below.

2. AIR QUALITY MONITORING The air quality monitoring results for the reporting period are summarised below.

2.1 Depositional Dust The depositional dust (g/m2/month) results (insoluble solids) for the reporting period are shown in Table 4 and Figure 1. Due to the extended turn-around time on analysis, results for dust gauges will be reported a month in arrears.

EPL 5129 does not include a licence limit for depositional dust. A 12-month rolling average air quality

criteria of 4 g/m2/month is commonly used for comparison purposes (Figure 2). The 4 g/m2/month criteria

is a condition of the Lidsdale Siding project approval, however applies at residences on privately owned

property. The Lidsdale Siding dust gauges are located on and near operational areas, and not at private

residences.

2.2 PM10 Monitoring The short-term criterion for particulate matter of 50 μg/m3 was not exceeded for the month.

3. SURFACE WATER MONITORING Surface water pH, total suspended solids, conductivity and oil & grease are monitored at LDP004 during discharges. There was no discharge through LDP004 during August 2018.

4. NOISE MONITORING Environmental noise monitoring described in this report was undertaken during the day, evening and night periods on 28 and 29 August 2018. Activities from Lidsdale Siding complied with the relevant development consent noise limits during attended noise monitoring for August 2018 at all monitoring locations.

5. INCIDENTS No environmental incidents were recorded at Lidsdale Siding during the August 2018 reporting period.

6. COMPLAINTS No complaints were recorded during the August 2018 reporting period.

7. CORRECTIONS LOG

No corrections to monitoring data were required during the August 2018 reporting period.
