Bell Schedule during Covid: (see attached) How to complete a class: Students work on 6 classes at a time. It takes 100 points to finish a class. Programs used in classes: Direct teacher instruction and assignments, Schoology, Edgenuity, and Achieve 3000 How we support parents/guardians: Main contact person – Office Manager (Ms. Martinez), email address [email protected], phone number 310-221-4600, and hours of availability M-F 9am-3pm. Principal also provides his cell phone number. Any unique facts: Angel’s Gate is the furthest most point in LAUSD. We are on a beautiful campus right next to the ocean. We have no uniform policy as our Principal wants Angel’s Gate to be an environment in which students’ individuality and creative expression can be celebrated. When school is physically in session, students go on field trips to various locations (i.e. Cash for College workshop, LATTC, LA Harbor College, Museum of Tolerance, and more), and we have career/tech/education class like Autoshop (we partnered with Harbor Occupational). We also bring in guest speakers and organizations regularly to enrich our students’ lives (i.e. Black History Month presentation, Etiquette Workshops, live music, YouthSource, etc.). We encourage leadership in our students by having a student leadership organization and have students give the daily announcements. We have regular recognition events for citizenship, academics, and attendance (i.e. Random Acts of Kindness Awards and Course Completion Awards). During virtual learning, we continue to have ShareFest (an outside organization that exposes students to career and college opportunities). Student’s mental and emotional health are very important to us, so we work closely with parents, students and Occupational Therapy Training Program (OTTP) to support those needs. As of December 2020, we currently have a waiting list.
