The corporate sector and more particularly, the analyst and investor community do not have an adequate understanding of the company’s varied activities and the potential that each of its business segments offer. For example, in its processed foods division, Jain Irrigation has established strong backward linkages across geographies by sourcing majority of fruits and vegetables directly from farmers and that its products are sold in over 40 countries. Similarly, Jain Irrigation’s plastics division is one of the largest plastic processors in India and besides products for drip irrigation, it makes a whole range of products for varied applications. In order that Jain Irrigation is perceived by business community as a truly diversified conglomerate with each of its businesses offering enormous growth opportunity, we pitched to Business India, the country’s leading business magazine; and over a period of three months, organized extensive facility visits for their senior journalists and photographers and several rounds of interviews and interaction with the Jain Irrigation senior management. The result: A 11 page cover story in the magazine with glowing editorial with an AVE of approx US$ 250,000.
