Special Kabuki Performance by KATAOKA Ainosuke, John WOO and Yoji YAMADA will receive SAMURAI Award!!

PRESS RELEASE October 24, 2015 Thank you for your interest in the 28th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). We are pleased to announce that “Special Night at Kabukiza Theatre” will be held on October 26th as one of the highlights of TIFF in its second year. This year KATAOKA Ainosuke will appear in the Kabuki performance ‘Ame no Gorõ (Gorõ in the Rain)’. As a special treat, “They Who Step on the Tiger’s Tail”, which was filmed before World War II by the great master Akira KUROSAWA, will be screened with a new 35 mm print with English subtitles. Between the programs, the SAMURAI Award ceremony will be held to honor the recipients, Dir. John WOO and Dir. Yoji YAMADA. Actress Sayuri YOSHINAGA and Keishi OTOMO will appear as a special guest. It would be a gorgeous event as we have invited a broad range of special guests for the evening. Those press members who wish to cover the event, please submit a pre-application form by October 25 (Sun.) 5:00pm Japan Time.

■Program: 4:30 pm Doors open

*The members of Miss International Beauty Pageant will welcome guests in

front of the theatre. Official still image will be available upon request.

5：30 pm Event starts

5:40 pm Kabuki performance ‘Ame no Gorõ (Gorõ in the rain)’ [approx. 15 min]

*Taking photos during the Kabuki performance is prohibited. Official still images will

be provided by TIFF upon request.

[30-minute Intermission (Guests and audience will enjoy special lunch box.) ]

6:30 pm SAMURAI Award ceremony [approx. 20 min]

7:00 pm Special screening of “They Who Step on the Tiger’s Tail” [59 min]

* Press members will move to the photo session venue.

* During the screening, photo session of KATAOKA Ainosuke will be served.

*As surprise presenters of SAMURAI Award, Sayuri YOSHINAGA (Actress) and Keishi OTOMO (Director) will

■Venue: The Kabukiza Theatre, 4-12-15 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo

■Press Registration： Starts at 3:30 pm

* Registration desk located on the left side of the main gate of the theatre

* Due to its limited spaces, not all requests can be met.

* Positions for photographers will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

(Please refer the press area(s) in the attached layout of the theater.)

* All members of the media covering “Special Night at Kabukiza Theatre” must be properly attired.

(If not suitable, we have to take you to the second floor.)

* Covering only the photo session of KATAOKA Ainosuke is not permitted.

* All journalists who would not take photo will be seated on the second floor.
