ETL approvalThisClassAdigitalapparatuscomplieswithCanadianICES-003.ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaclassAdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCCrules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferencewhentheequipmentisoperatedinacommercialenvironment.Thisequipmentgenerates,uses,andcanradiateradiofrequenceenergyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructionmanual,maycauseharmfullinterfer-encetoradiocommunications.Operationoftheseequipmentinaresidentialareaislikelytocauseharmfulinterferenceinwhichcasetheuserwillberequiredtocorrecttheinterferenceathisownexpense.

•Theoperatorisliableforanydamagearisingthroughincorrectusage.

1.5 Incorrect UsageTheapplianceisnotintendedforvisualscan-ningofimageplatesinhumanmedicine.Anyuseoftheapplianceaboveandbeyondthatlaiddownheresconsideredtobeimproperuseoftheequipment.Anyresultingdamagethuscausedisthesoleliabilityoftheuser.Themanufacturercannotbeheldresponsiblefordamagecausedbyimproperuse.

This appliance must not be used in operating theatres or similar types of room, where there is a risk of inflam-mable materials catching fire.

1.6 Using Peripheral Devices•Onlyperipheraldevices(computer,monitor,

printer)maybeconnectedtothisappliancewhichconformtostandardIEC60950-1(EN60950/1).

•Appliancesmayonlybeconnectedtogetherorconnectedtoothersystempartswherethesafetyofpatients,operatorsandalsotheenvi-ronmentisensured.Wheretheabsolutesafetyforoperator,patientorenvironmentisnotapparentthentheoperatorisexpectedtocallonexpertadvice,e.g.fromthemanufactureroranexpert,thatsuchconnectionsaresafebeforeproceeding.

1.7 Using image platesThescannermayonlybeoperatedincom-binationwithcassettesfromDürrNDTorDÜRRMEDICAL.Seealsothesectiononimageplates.

1.8 Use of softwareOnlysoftwarespecificallyapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICAL(e.g.Vet-ExamPlus,Vet-ExamIntra)maybeused.UseofanyothersoftwaremustbeexpresslyapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICAL.

Theimageplateisnowpushedcarefullyoutofitssecuredandopenedlightprotectioncoverintothefilmtransport(11)usingthefingers.Thelightprotectioncoverstaysinpositionatthefilmfeedslot.Assoonasthelightprotectioncoverisreleased,itcanberemoved.

Oncetakenupbythefilmtransport(11)theim-ageplateisfedtothescannerunit.Heretheim-agedataontheimageplateisscannedusingalaserandtheinformationtransmittedtothePC.Awindowonthemonitorshowstheprogressofthisprocedure.

Afterscanningtheimageplateproceedstotheerasureunit,whereanyremainingimagedataiserased.Afterwardstheimageplatefallsintothecollectiontray(10).

Further X-ray imagesAfterremovingtheimageplatesfromthefilmcollectiontrayitisrecommendedthattheyberepackedintoalightprotectioncover.

Image plates are toxic: Image plates are therefore to always be used in a light protection cover. If the image plates or parts thereof are swal-lowed, the image plate must be removed immediately. If a light protection cover is dam-aged when biting on it, then the mouth must be rinsed out thoroughly with copious amounts of water.
