WRB20104 Certificate II in Nail Technology

Course duration: 120 hours plus additional clinic hours. There are 3 options: (1) 3 days a week for 5 weeks or (2) 5 days a week for 3 weeks (3) evenings a week for 10 weeks. Course Fees $1,950 including product and tool kits. After completing this course graduates will be equipped with the necessary knowl-edge and skills to provide all Artificial Nail, Manicure and Pedicare services. The course will include theory as well as practical experience in a simulated salon environment. Theory assessments will be conducted during the course, and practical assessment will be on going throughout the duration of the course. Course Gradu-ates will receive a Certificate II in Nail Technology. The requirements of Certificate II are 12 core units plus 1 elective. . Students will receive a Learner’s Guide, acrylic, gel, manicure and pedicure kits. Stu-dents are recommended to purchase the text ‘Milady’s Standard Nail Technology’ upon enrolment. The School will provide products for use in class and for you to practice with at home. The School will also provide models and additional equipment for the students during the course. The students however are welcome and encour-aged to bring in friends or family members as models if they so wish. This course is competency based and students will receive extra training & assess-ment as is reasonably necessary to meet required competency standards.

WRB30104 Certificate III in Beauty Services

Course Duration: 256 hours plus additional clinic hours There are 3 options; (1) 3 days a week over 11 weeks (2) 5 days a week over 7 weeks (3) 3 evenings a week over 22 weeks Course Fees $3,810 including product and tool kits.

Certificate III has been designed so students are able upon completion to work, and gain experience in the beauty treatments covered in the course, and also earn an income before going on to complete either the Certificate IV or a Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

The treatments covered include Waxing, Bleaching, Eye Brow Shaping, Eye Brow & Eye Lash Tinting, Eye Lash Perming, and Manicure & Pedicare Services. They also include acrylic & gel nail enhancements, use of electrical equipment & nail art. In addition students gain knowledge of skin biology, interaction with customers, how to promote the business and manage finances.

Theory assessments will be conducted during the course, and practical assessment will be on going throughout the duration of the course. Learner guides will be pro-vided for use during the course. Students are required to purchase the text “Milady’s Hair Removal Techniques” and recommended to purchased Milady’s Standard Nail Technology. The school will provide all products and equipment needed in class. The school will also provide models during the course. The students however are welcome and encouraged to bring in friends or family members as models if they so wish. The course is competency based and students will receive extra training & assessment as necessary to meet required competency standards. The require-ments of Certificate III in Beauty Services are 15 core units plus 6 elective.

Waxing & Tinting (5 days)

This course covers all waxing and bleaching treatments (excluding Brazilian waxing—see separate course). It covers waxing using hot wax, strip wax & cartridges. It also covers bleaching and tinting of brows and lashes. It will include theory and practical experience in a simulated professional salon environment. There will be a written assessments and practical assessment will be ongoing throughout the duration of the course. Upon suc-cessful completion graduate students will receive a certificate of completion.

This course is based on the guidelines of the National Beauty Training Package issued by the National Training Information Service (NTIS). Upon successful completion stu-dents will receive credit should they enroll at this school for the certificate III in beauty services. A learner guide will be provided for use during the course. Brazilian Waxing

This is a specialized training available for students who have had at least 3 months wax-ing experience. The techniques and skill they acquire in this workshop will enable them to offer brazilian waxing to a very high standard with minimal discomfort to the client. You will be required to bring a model for this course. This Course is conducted one on one and can take between 2 to 3 hours. It covers all aspects of Brazilian waxing including:

Threading

The history of threading itself is somewhat difficult to trace. It is a widespread and very old technique for hair removal, used for centuries throughout the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and parts of East Asia. The use of threading in the United States, UK & Europe has grown rapidly over the last decade and is gaining popularity in Australia.

Spray Tanning

Spray tanning has experienced enormous growth in the beauty industry in recent years. This course is held over a 4 hour period. It covers theory and practical ex-
