CPCA MEMBERS AREA

CHECK OUT THE NEW MEMBERS AREA

Introducing CPCA Members Area 2.0!

The College is pleased to announce that the CPCA Members Area has been updated to the latest version with a brand new appearance. One of the main purposes of the update is to make it easier for members to navigate the platform. New functions will soon be added to the Members Area to provide even more benefits to our members and our sponsors.

President’s 2020 End of Year Message

As I write this, NSW continues to face certain restrictions for the Northern Beaches. For those affected our thoughts

are with you. While the future is unclear, but one thing is for sure, and that is, complacency is everyone’s enemy

when it comes to this virus. I am glad to say that I have monitored audits on our COVIDSafe practises at work ever

since SA came out of the first lockdown, but there have been the odd occasions involving very minor issues that could

lead to a decreasing vigilance. So my main message today is ensure the people who work with you, and yourself, are

almost obsessed with the College’s COVIDSafe recommendations as published on the website.

Many of our members will be aware of changes occurring within other Colleges. The College has received

correspondence from ACAM’s new Board and I am delighted to say that collaboration with other stakeholders has

been high-lighted as a primary aim going forward. In addition, the College has received correspondence from the

newly formed Cosmetic Nurses Association. The College welcomes the opportunity for open and productive

discussions regarding the prevailing valued relationship with all health practitioners where there is a clear balance of

each profession’s scope of practice and common ground, especially focused on patient safety. As one of over 70

organisations of the Australian Ethical Healthcare Alliance groups, the College is committed to assist other professions

on this topic while ensuring our members sustain the strength of our stakeholder position at levels of government,

the general public and the medical profession per se. [Read more]

Congratulations to the recent

Exam Candidates

The College would like to congratulate the recent exam candidates who have been awarded the following certificates in the last few months. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 lockdown issues that took place in Victoria, the competency assessment of those candidates will take place on 31st January 2021. More information will be sent to these candidates in due course.

The Board recognises the undertaking of this examination process was performed on a voluntary basis and would therefore like to commend these members on their espousal of the evaluation and verification of the skills and experience they have accumulated since first joining the College. Thank you all for working with the College to ensure patient safety as it strives to establish and maintain high standards in cosmetic Medicine. With the above certifications achieved, the Board has invited these members to apply for College Fellowship.

THE COSMETIC PHYSICIAN

This year, the College was proud to host its first virtual cosmetic medicine conference – CosDoc2020, which was held on 18th October 2020. This was a one-day, online interactive conference that showcased a number of international and respected local speakers. The content was directed to medical practitioners, registered nurses, practice managers, dermal therapists and practice staff. We hope that attendants found CosDoc2020 an informative and useful learning experience.

“With the aim of CosDoc2020 being to emulate a live conference feel; delegates had access to a lobby area, virtual sponsor booths, both networking and live chat functionality and two concurrent scientific content streams.”

Feedback from Delegates

"Well run, kept to time, pre-recorded sessions were

Postponed CPCA Convocation

Due to obvious COVID-19 reasons, the College is saddened to announce that the 2020 convocation has been postponed. The convocation was scheduled to follow the September 2020 examinations to acknowledge the new Fellows and to welcome the new members who have joined the College since the last convocation. However, we want to assure the members that this has not been forgotten and so, as soon as a suitable date and location becomes clear and right for the picking, the Board will commence the arrangements to bring as many of us together to celebrate the proud achievements of these individuals.

The College is recognised as one of the leading representatives and stakeholder’s in the profession of cosmetic medicine and as a result, it has earned the respect of, financial back-up and support from some of the leading suppliers of filler and relaxer products and technology and equipment. These Corporate Members fall into three tiers with the highest donations coming from Platinum Sponsors, then Gold, then Silver. This relationship is a two-way street. Our members need to support those that support us, and they can do this by finding as many opportunities as possible to interact with them. For
