Introduction
Cooling of fabricated chips is greater concern for scientist.
The generated heat should be carried away.
Our paper aims to propose a method of cooling the
fabricated chips using nanotechnology

Nanotechnology
The word nanotechnology is derived from the Greek
word nanos meaning dwarf.(10^-9)
Nanotechnology involves working with matter at the
scale of one-billionth of a metre (1mm).
It is the art of manipulating matter at the atomic scale

Methods
Two regions of cooling chips
Ion Generating region
Ion pumping region

Ion generating region
A carbon nanotubes is a sheet of carbon atoms joined
in a pattern of hexagons and rolled into a cylinder
The negatively charged nanotubes discharge
electrons toward the positively charged electrodes.
The generated ions causes the ionization of air.

Nano lightning
This ionization of air leads to an imbalance of charges
that eventually result in lightning bolts.
Lightning is created with 100 volts or less, we are
generating lighting on a nano-scale here.
The ionized air molecules cause currents to flow.

Ion pumping region
This region consists of a series of three electrodes with
the first one highly positive
the next one less positive
the last one negative.
The voltages are rapidly switched from one electrode.
As the ions move forward, they make repeated
collisions with neutral molecules, producing the breeze.

Corona wind
A corona wind is created by the ions that follow an
electrical field set up by opposite charges.
Collisions between ions and neutral air atoms
propelling the air forward is called the corona wind
effect .
This combination creates an environment so that the
ions are pumped out resulting in an ionic breeze which
cools the computer chips

Advantages
More reliable and noiseless.
Increase the life expectancy of the chips
Size of computers will be smaller
Self cooling of chips,no external means of creating air.
more advanced circuitry can be fabricated within a
single chip.

Future scope
The design might replace the carbon nanotubes with a
thin film of diamond, which would
sturdier and easier
The grain boundaries in the diamond film
provides electron emission and ion generation.

Conclusion
Cooling of chips by external sources like fan and
conventional fans are merely impossible.
Hence we use an alternative and innovative source
for cooling of chips without external source.
