remove the roof at one of

the agency’s Community

Integrated Living

Arrangement homes in

Flossmoor, IL.

The current roof was prone

to leaking and low pitch

areas.

The new Cool Roof will help

enhance roof durability and

reduce both building cooling

loads and the urban heat

island effect.

SouthSTAR Services is a 501 (c)(3)

nonprofit located in Chicago Heights,

Illinois which provides developmental

training, seniors services, supported

employment, community employment,

community living services including CILA

and intermittent CILA services, home

based support services and advocacy to

individuals with developmental disabilities.

Our services are individualized based

upon the individual's wants and

dreams. Their goal is to improve the lives

of families with disabilities.

Cook County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant

(EECBG) Program, administered through the Department of

Environmental Control in partnership with the Bureau of Economic

Development, has provided funding to over 70 Sub-Recipients to

complete a variety of projects aimed at reducing energy use,

operating cost and greenhouse gas emissions. The EECBG funds

provide County-wide economic, environmental and social benefits.
