Addionally, to provide a lesson plan integrang Social Studies and Visual Arts grade level expectaon of the State Essenal Academic Learning Standards. Featured art pieces will be showcased during the Spring Fair. Targeted age group: Puyallup School District - Second Graders Timeline: All materials and supplies (CD / templates) delivered to teachers: November 25— November 27, 2013 Implement lesson someme between: December 2, 2013 - January 10, 2014 All original student artwork turned in to Laurie Haakons: January 14, 2014 Winning artwork on display at Spring Fair: April 10-13, 2014 Art format: Full-color, approximately 11” x 17”, horizontal format, full-color. Students to only create artwork on template sheet provided by Fair. Social Studies format: Wrien on tablet paper and stapled to back of artwork. Criteria: Art with words spelled incorrectly will not be selected as a winner. Posters must incorporate both social studies and art learning targets (generaon aſter gen- eraon slant) to be considered in compeon. This is for the Spring Fair. It must have a spring feel. Remember to “think spring.” i.e. no pumpkins, train in SillyVille, planng patch or acvies that occur only at the Washington State Fair in September. Refer only to the Spring Fair in Puyallup. Contest Guidelines and Prizes

Objective: To partner with the Puyallup elementary schools to increase awareness and build anticipation of the Spring Fair in Puyallup. Additionally, to provide a lesson plan integrating Social Studies and Visual Arts grade level expectation of the State Essential Academic Learning Standards. Featured art pieces will be showcased during the Spring Fair. Implement lesson sometime between: December 2, 2013 - January 10, 2014

All original student artwork turned in to Laurie Haakons: January 14, 2014

Winning artwork on display at Spring Fair: April 10-13, 2014 Art format: Full-color, approximately 11” x 17”, horizontal format, full-color. Winning school / classroom will receive: 1st place prize: Trip to the Spring Fair in Puyallup for entire classroom on Friday, April 11, 2014. Includes

transportation, Spring Fair admission tickets (40), scones and beverages for students and chaperones.

Art supply donation $300. School name recognized, where appropriate, on collateral materials utilizing artwork, as

well as on Fair website and artwork exhibit at Spring Fair.

2nd place prize: Spring Fair admission tickets for classroom (30). Art supply donation $250. School name recognized on website, as well as on artwork exhibit at the Spring Fair.

3rd place prize: Art supply donation $150. School name recognized on website, as well as on artwork exhibit at the Spring Fair. The 1st place winning student will receive: Spring Fair admission tickets (10) Ride on any 10 Funtastic rides during Spring Fair. Basket of art supplies, estimated value $30 Students’ name, in conjunction with school name, recognized where appropriate, on col-

lateral materials utilizing artwork, as well as Fair website and artwork exhibit at the Spring Fair.

The 2nd place winning student will receive: Spring Fair admission tickets (8) The 3rd place winning student will receive: Spring Fair admission tickets (4) Potential artwork display opportunities: Coupon given to local school districts: Art could be featured in conjunction with the Spring

Fair ad campaign theme on the 200,000+ coupons that are distributed in 15 local districts. School poster: The posters which are distributed with the school coupons could feature

the winning art, in conjunction with the Spring Fair ad campaign theme. Website – thefair.com KidZone: Winning art and runner-ups to be displayed in the KidZone art display during

Spring Fair. Artwork ownership: The Western Washington Fair Association (Spring Fair in Puyallup) will obtain all rights for usage of artwork on an unlimited basis.
