From Your Worthy President
Annual Picnic wasanother great success
Brothers and Sisters, we are happy to announce thatdespite scheduling conflicts, the Aerie Picnic at theSwiss Park in Bonney Lake was a great success. Yes,attendance was lower than expected, but all those whomade it seemed to have a good time. With the niceweather and a wonderful group of volunteers, a mod-est profit was made.
We would like your input for next years picnic, aswe have been offered a reduced rate at the VFWcampground near South Prairie, putting the price fair-ly even with the Swiss Park. Let us know where youwould rather be by dropping a note in the Club Man-agers office door slot. Thanks again to all those whocame and especially to our great volunteers. We hopeto see you out next year.
Coming up on Thursday, September 13, the Aeriewill be serving Fair Burgers. Come support the crewthis year as the Aerie faces off against the Auxiliary inour annual contest.
The 13th of September is also a very important datefor another reason. It happens to be the 50th birthdayof your Auxiliary Madam President (who is also mywife!). Be sure to wish her a happy birthday if youhappen to see her.

Auxiliary Cancer Fund-Raiser
The ‘Flock has arrived! The ‘Flock has arrived! With much anticipation, the “Flocking Crew”
pretty much has all their eggs hatched, so tospeak. With the help of some very eager Eagles,we hopefully have started our big Auxiliary Can-cer Fund-Raiser by the time you get this newslet-ter! Some of you will be having a flock of beauti-ful, Pink Flamingos gracing your yards! Instruc-tions will be included on how to proceed mainly in giving a donation to the AuxiliaryCancer Fund.
Once that is done, the “FlockingAttendants” will quicklycome and remove theflock from youryard. You then, have the
option to have another oneof our Eagles flocked, providedthey live within the area. Ifnot, we shall choose someoneelse. You may also have theoption of making a dona-tion to obtain some“Anti-FlockingInsurance” so thatno flocks willcome visit youryard! You also will, of course, havethe option of not participating inthis, just let Shireen Ainsworth, DebAnderson or Loni know.
The “Flocking Crew” will takegreat care in making sure that noth-ing is damaged. The birds are on avery small stake that is just simplypushed into the ground and does nodamage to lawns or dirt. Alongwith the instructions providedwill be phone numbers to call.
There will be a map of Puyallup area posted inthe lobby and we will be tracking the flocks
progress around the city for everyone to enjoy, along with the progress of our fund-raisingefforts.
We are hoping for everyone to get into theaction, and enjoy this effort to help those suffer-
ing with this horrible disease. Onceagain, all our Auxiliary Cancermonies stay in Puyallup!
Watch for this flocking crewto be in the club room through-out the month of September! Its your chance to tell someone
to “Get Flocked!” Shireen Ainsworth,
