Construction of our Digipak

Dorcas & Kemique

Introduction.

Today was the day that we decided to create our Digipak and it took us a long time to make it look the way it does. We decided to go for a design that’s related to our music video and the main summery them. At first I was confused of what to do so I decided to look up examples of previous album cover/digipak created by known artist. We loved the idea of Rihanna album covers as it was more close up used. We also liked the gratify them which we ended up going for and we loved the final outcome.

Choosing the pictures.

These are our favorite pictures that we though could be used for the making of our digipak. However we only manage to use three pictures from our list. It was really hard to decide as we both really liked each picture and we wanted to incorporate it in our digipak.

Front Cover

Image 1 is was our first attempt and it was done by Dorcas and we both loved it until Dorcas came up with a different idea. Whilst searching for a song on YouTube she stumbled on this video that showed her how to create the effect displayed on image 2 . Trust us it Dorcas a long time to master this. Kemique had to write down the steps then Dorcas had to create the image.

These are some pictures of the making of the cover picture. I forgot to mention that we used Photoshop for the making of our digipak. As you can see allot of time was spent creating the final image.

Back cover We also decided to use the brick wall effect For the back cover as it matches the front cover. Personally I think it’s a nice idea. This image was created by Kemique as you can see she spent a long time to create this and I believe she did a good job.Kemique also had to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to add the gratify writing on the wall. In order to make sure that the back matches the front cover she decided to use the same brick image that Dorcas previously used for the front cover.

Other sides. The remaining three pictures were used for the remaining slot of our digipak. The top left image was edited by Dorcas on Photoshop whilst the other two did not require any improvement.

We chose theses pictures as it incorporated different angle on each picture. Also each image represent a feeling/ action that can be found in the actual music video and the song meaning itself.

The overall meaning of “ unbreakable smile” is to promote self confidence , been free to do what ever you want to do and achieve. It also means walking always from the heavy baggage fro the past and walk forward & keep SMILLING!
