In this lesson we learn the usage of CONNECTORS OF REASON, CAUSE & PURPOSE.
In this series, we learn the usage of the following connectors.Because of; On account of; Owing to; Due to.To join given two sentences, we use the following structure.Connector + noun or noun phrase/present participle (V4)
Let study the following pair of sentences.He stole my books. He was fined.Because of his stealing my books, he was fined.On account of his stealing my books, he was fined.Owing to his stealing my books, he was fined.
Let us take another example.
The project has been cancelled. There is lack of support.
The project has been cancelled, due to lack of support.The project has been cancelled, because of lack of support.The project has been cancelled, owing to lack of support.
Please remember the above sentences are simple sentences, as they have only one subject and one finite verb.
