Dr. Alan Messer, VP, Advanced Software Technologies, Samsung Electronics Dr. Messer leads Samsung’s R&D into next generation consumer software technologies for Intelligence, Privacy, IoT and Big Data Services. This encompasses the addition of software technologies for Samsung products, including device interconnectivity, automatic content recognition, second screen and cloud content delivery. Before joining Samsung, Alan has worked at a variety of consumer electronics companies including HP Labs, and Sony Electronics. Alan is a worldwide leader in convergence/IoT, software platforms, web and cloud service technologies for consumer products. Alan is also the Vice President and Vice Chairman of global home networking standards group, the UPnP Forum.
Philip Gerskovich, Senior Vice President, New Growth Platforms , Zebra Philip Gerskovich joined Zebra as senior vice president, corporate development, in 2005. He became senior vice president, new growth platforms in Sept. 2011. Previously, Mr. Gerskovich was corporate vice president and general manager of new business, commercial printing division for Eastman Kodak Company from 2004 until he joined Zebra. From 1999 to 2003, he was corporate vice president and chief operating officer, digital and applied imaging, at Kodak. His previous positions included vice president of internet appliance business unit, Data General Corp. from 1995 to 1998, director, server product marketing, Dell Inc., from 1994 to 1995, and program director OEM and technology marketing, RS/6000 division, International Business Machines Corporation, from 1992 to 1994. Mr. Gerskovich received a B.S. degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois.

James E. Heppelmann, CEO, PTCJames (Jim) Heppelmann is the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of PTC, responsible for driving the company’s global business strategy and operations. During Mr. Heppelmann’s leadership tenure, PTC has assembled the industry’s most comprehensive technology capabilities that enable companies to create, connect, operate, and service smart, connected products. He also serves on PTC’s Board of Directors.
Honored as 2014 Internet of Things (IoT) CEO of the Year, Mr. Heppelmann is seen as a thought leader in the IoT space. He co-authored with Harvard Professor Michael E. Porter the seminal article on the Internet of Things in the November 2014 issue of Harvard Business Review, called “How Smart, Connected Products are Transforming Competition.” He also speaks regularly around the globe on the subject and was recently a featured speaker at Brookings Institution regarding the role of digitization in America’s advanced industries. He has been published and quoted in numerous global business and trade media, including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Bloomberg Businessweek.
John Sallay, Founder & Managing Director, The NextVista GroupJohn Sallay is the founder and Managing Director of the NextVista Group, a growth-strategy consulting firm. Prior to establishing NextVista, John was SVP, New Growth Platforms at Avery Dennison and before that served as SVP, Strategy of Staples. Prior to joining Staples, John co-founded Manifold Products, a Boston-area incubator focused on consumer products. Earlier in his career, John was a partner with TH Lee Putnam Ventures, a Managing Director in DLJ’s Technology Investment Banking Group, and a Managing Director in the Harvard Private Capital Group, Harvard University’s direct private equity investment program. Previously, he had been a McKinsey consultant and worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble.
