Comments: 1) The Manufacturer has provided a declaration about the control of, or the lack ofAsbestos in this product. 2) A loose gear test certificate is to be provided by theManufacturer. The certificate is to show the distinguishing number or mark appliedto the article of gear, description, kind of material, carbon content, date of test,proof load applied, and safe working load. Hooks covered in present certificate areto be surface inspected in accordance with OEM specification, evidence shall be

provided by the Manufacturer. 3) Hooks made in alloy steel (Grade 8, materialidentification -E-) are suitable for a minimum operating temperature of -20°C,hooks made in carbon steel (Grade 4, material identification -D-) are suitable for aminimum operating temperature of -30°C where operation at lower temperature isrequested, special material testing will be carried out by Manufacturer inaccordance with the requirements of section 2-3/13 of the ABS "Guide forCertification of Lifting Appliances", the same is to be reported on the hookcertificate. 4) Hooks for personnel lifting shall be ordered with the lockable latch(type "OSHA" in manufacturer denomination) 5) Suitability of hook safety factorwith respect to installation dynamic factor is the sole responsibility of the cranedesigner 6) Hook type 167 is not intended to be rotated with suspended load 7)Unless specially directed by Administration, this approval is not to be construed asa substitute for flag Administration's approval for the purpose of SOLAS 1974 asamended.

Term of Validity: This Product Design Assessment (PDA) Certificate 14-GE1174161-PDA, dated28/Apr/2014 remains valid until 27/Apr/2019 or until the Rules or specificationsused in the assessment are revised (whichever occurs first). This PDA is intendedfor a product to be installed on an ABS classed vessel, MODU or facility which is inexistence or under contract for construction on the date of the ABS Rules orspecifications used to evaluate the Product. Use of the Product on an ABS classedvessel, MODU or facility which is contracted after the validity date of the ABS Rulesand specifications used to evaluate the Product, will require re-evaluation of thePDA. Use of the Product for non ABS classed vessels, MODUs or facilities is to beto an agreement between the manufacturer and intended client.

ABS ProgramsABS has used due diligence in the preparation of this certificate and it represents the information on the product in the ABS Records as of thedate and time the certificate was printed. Type Approval requires Drawing Assessment, Prototype Testing and assessment of themanufacturer's quality assurance and quality control arrangements. Limited circumstances may allow only Prototype Testing to satisfy TypeApproval. The approvals of Drawings and Products remain valid as long as the ABS Rule, to which they were assessed, remains valid. ABScautions manufacturers to review and maintain compliance with all other specifications to which the product may have been assessed. Further,unless it is specifically indicated in the description of the product; Type Approval does not necessarily waive witnessed inspection or surveyprocedures (where otherwise required) for products to be used in a vessel, MODU or facility intended to be ABS classed or that is presently inclass with ABS. Questions regarding the validity of ABS Rules or the need for supplemental testing or inspection of such products should, in allcases, be addressed to ABS.
