Confessions of a PR
Professional
I begin at the end…
• Not of my journey…
• Not of my dreams…
• Not of my hope either…
• But…
• At the end of my beginning!
What the hell does that
mean?
End of my
beginning…
Absurd as it may sound…
• It is the truth!
• For that is where it all
began…
My beginning…
• Was exactly like that of
millions of others before
me…
• And millions after me…
• And the same as what it is
going to be for the majority
of hopeful graduates sitting
in this gathering…
A beginning…
• Full of hope…
• Full of ambition…
• Full of confidence…
• Full of spirit…
• Full of enthusiasm…
• Full of Zest, vigor, energy
and verve…
Have you ever seen a football
match?
• And noticed the player who is called upon
from the bench, by the coach…
– How he springs up…
– How he stretches himself and preens…
– How he takes his position just outside the
boundary line…
• And waits expectantly for the moment, when
the Line Referee signals to a player on the
field to come out…
• And how he dances, prances and swaggers
his way into position…
I was just like that…
• Waited on the boundary line till an
opening in Mudra PR was offered
to me…
• And with glee, swagger and
passion…
• I entered the field of PR
The field of Public
Relations
• Creative…
• Exciting…
• Challenging…
• Abounding…
Abounding…• With opportunity
To think…
To strategise…
To apply what I had learnt in text
books…
To succeed and make a mark
for myself…
To make a difference…
•Entering the world of
brands, is like entering a
wonderland – magical,
mysterio9us, alluring and
unpredictable…
•A world which is
characterized by a
singular characteristic…
For reading more of this
book…• You have to buy it…
• After I write it…

Communication
By sheer virtue of the fact that he/she is
in the field of Public Relations
The truth is…
• There will hundreds of
people who will tell you
about the great world of
PR…
• And thousands of books
that espouse its merits…
While they are all honorable
men…
And so equally honorable
are the books…
