IntroductionIt is a pleasure to welcome you to the ICC Birmingham and the ECA’s second Electric Event.
The Electric Event promises to deliver another high-level conference exhibition and technical workshops; bringing together
suppliers, specifiers and contractors under one roof, giving electrical contractors all the tools they need to run a thriving business.
The Electric Event will showcase the best and most cutting edge innovations the electrical industry has to offer; and over the next three days, key business speakers and industry experts will impart invaluable advice, particularly on ‘Surviving the Recovery’, part of the ECA’s year long campaign.
The ECA is here to help you make the most of new market opportunities, to help facilitate those light bulb moments - and to provide an unbeatable network of contacts and advice - which is exactly what you will get at this event.
We are very excited about the quality of technical workshops on offer, covering a wealth of subjects that will be of interest to every electrical contractor, including power distribution, controls and automation, energy solutions, renewables and microgeneration; areas that will only grow in importance to us as contractors and to our partners in the wider industry over the next few years.
We will have our second Gala Awards Dinner, recognising excellence and achievement of ECA members. We heard from last year’s winners how the award gave a boost to their business and staff, and we look forward to seeing how it will help this year’s winners.
We can only run an event of this magnitude with the support of our sponsors, whose names you can find in this programme; together with the hard work and direction of our Conference Working Party. I offer my sincere thanks to you all for enabling us to put together this landmark event.
Be sure to make the most of the amazing social and networking opportunities here, and I myself, look forward to getting to know you over the event and hope you have an enjoyable experience.
