FOR WORKFORCE HEALTH, WELLBEING AND PRODUCTIVITY
Putting clients first, always
Our founding Directors had been commissioned to author a paper on return to work performance in the rehabilitation sector. Their findings indicated enormous potential for improvement by adopting a client-centred rather than carer-centred approach. The paper also indicated that a fee-for-outcome model would drive far superior outcomes than the widely used fee-for-service model.
Equipped with this knowledge, our Directors combined their allied health, management consulting, recruitment and employment services experience to open the first IPAR office in Melbourne in 2003. Since then, we have experienced rapid growth. We are now a national organisation with metropolitan and regional offices in every state and territory and by far the largest provider of recovery and return to work services in Australia.
In 2014, Cogent Thinking was established to provide injury management and care coordination services. The aim was to provide the very best outsourced solutions to prevent and manage injuries, so that employers and employees would benefit from safer workplaces, with fewer injuries of less severity and duration. Importantly, Cogent’s services help injured individuals to navigate what can be a complex compensation environment while recovering from injury or illness.
The combined services of IPAR and Cogent Thinking provide employers and insurers with best practice action for workplace health and productivity. Every activity is focused on ensuring people are safe and productive at work.
Technical capability
Even in a people business such as ours, technical infrastructure and support is paramount. We invest in systems, structure and support to equip and enable our people to be mobile and responsive.
Technology enables us to monitor progress, track outcomes and report on return on investment. It means that any person who needs recovery assistance can get what they need, no matter their location or the time of day. And it provides customers with secure access to data via online portals or bespoke system integration for real time monitoring of cases.
Any workplace, anywhere, any time
No matter how, when or where a person is injured, there is an IPAR and Cogent Thinking solution. Our services cover every state and jurisdiction. Our experience covers every industry and role type. Our expertise delivers outcomes for both physical and psychological injury or illness.
All services are tailored to the unique needs of:
• Workers compensation
• Life insurance
• Comcare / self-insurance
• Compulsory Third Party
• Private health insurance
• Military and Department of Veterans’ Affairs
Scale with agility
Our national office network ensures that we can deliver consistent services to the largest of employers. It also means that clients benefit from an easily accessible local provider, with a team of people from their community working together on their recovery and return to work.
Our considerable size is balanced with our responsive approach. We understand that every client and every customer is different, so we tailor our service to meet the needs at hand. This agile nature has been with us since inception, is ingrained in our corporate culture and continues to set us apart.
Innovative from the outset
We have always looked to do things better. Today, as the largest provider in Australia, we are in a unique position to analyse data, identify trends, and use our knowledge and capability to solve problems and respond to industry needs.
Our Research and Innovation team is crucial to this response. Working in partnership with research institutions and renowned experts from a range of fields, the team undertakes speaking engagements, authors published papers, and is responsible for the design and development of unique service and product offerings. Their work also informs the ongoing improvement efforts that we undertake in all aspects of service delivery.
