JOB FAMILIESCommon characteristics

Nature of workExempt/Non-ExemptJob market

PAY GRADESJobs are grouped into pay levels or pay grades based on the types of duties assigned, skill requirements, responsibility, and market value.

Pay grade assignments are based solely on the job NOT the credentials or performance of the person in the job.

WHAT ABOUT EQUITY ADJUSTMENTS?

What is it?• Based on the comparable school districts, if a position is found BELOW market rate, an equity adjustment MAY be added to that level.

Who gets it? • Each year the Board MAY approve a specified amount of budget funds in addition to raises. The Board can specify which pay group to apply market adjustment based on greatest need.
