Good Morning! If this is your first time here, we don’t want you to feel obligated to give. Please be our guest. The offering is for our regular attenders and members. Today we welcome Rick Nielson, President of Blueprint for Life, as our speaker. Over the past two decades Rick has shared his programs and Christian faith in over six hundred prisons around the world. His book, "Doin' Time", describing his experiences, won the International Angel Award for excellence in moral media. Today we’ll be coming to the Lord’s Table in Communion. On the back of the bulletin you’ll find some thoughts to help prepare your heart.
FOOD PANTRY On the first Sunday of each month in conjunction with communion we collect canned goods and other non-‐perishable food items for a local food pantry. (No glass please.) If you forgot to bring something today, you’ll have another chance on the first Sunday of next month! Thank you!

Communion Sunday A Cheat Sheet for How to Prep Your Heart for Communion-‐ Jeremiah Burroughs, a Puritan who lived in the early seventeenth century wrote about what is required in receiving the sacrament. We share these in the hope that they help prepare us to come to the Lord’s Table.
Knowledge is Required -‐ Know what the Lord’s Supper signifies. A Suitable Disposition -‐ Because the Lord’s Supper remembers the Lord’s crucified body and shed blood, “a suitable disposition is brokenness of heart, a sense of our sin…” Purging and Cleansing the Heart of Sin -‐ We should “make a diligent search to see whether there is not some evil in our heart; and whatever sin you shall come to find in your heart, there must be a casting out of it.” The Hungering and Thirsting for Jesus Christ -‐ “Oh, that I might have more of Christ, that I might meet with Christ, that I might have some further manifestation of Jesus Christ, that I might have my soul further united to the Lord Christ, and so have further influence of Christ to my soul.” Thankfulness And A Willingness to Renew Our Covenant – “…if I take the seals of the covenant, I must be willing to set my seal on it too, to renew the covenant. A Renewing of Love -‐ We come to renew our love not only to God but also to our “brethren.”
4. A Strong Witness Requires a Pure and Broken Heart What is true compassion? Does your heart ache for others? 5. Witness Can Be Both Verbal and Non-Verbal What is the difference between walking the walk and talking the talk? 6. You Must Be Flexible- Are you a "runner" or a "stopper"? 7. We Must Sacrifice Both Physically and Financially Why does this open so many doors?

On the Road Again Scripture: Luke 10: 25-37 (The Good Samaritan Parable) In order for us to have an effective witness to others we will look at 7 things in the Good Samaritan parable that remind us of what it will take to make a difference. Are you a stumbling block or a stepping-stone?
1. Love Must Take the Initiative What is the difference between an opportunity and an obligation? 2. We Must Learn to Love the Unlovely Can you think of any unlovely people in your life today? 3. There is No Impact Without Contact There is a difference between your ability and your availability.
