Hands On – Commission the drive
Use your IOP and perform a Basic Commission on the drive.
Set up STANDARD DRIVE CONTROL
Be sure to read your motor nameplate. Set the drive up for the 460V data on the nameplate
LINEAR Characteristic• What is this for? Constant or Variable Torque applications?
Set up control for STANDARD IO with MOP, Macro 9. • What does this do?• What was default control settings in the drive? Field bus control? Y or
N?

Suggested Lab Tasks to Try
1. Operate the drive via HAND Mode. Can you use the roller ball to control speed?
2. Go to EXTRAS and identify the Drive. Can you obtain the part number of your drive?
3. Go to EXTRAS and activate status screen wizard. Change from bar graph to SCALAR values. Keep r0021 n_act TOP and r0025 U_output Bottom. Select RPM units for r0021 with “0” decimals. Save and check your findings. What is represented by the symbol n_act?
4. Go to PARAMTERS and Search for parameter 2030. Set it to “0”. Did the blinking BF light turn off after you power cycle the drive?
5. Go to UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD and save the parameter file Drive to Panel for back up.
