Page 2: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

•World’s most astounding mysteries that raise questions with no satisfactory explanation in science.

•These may include Beasts and Monsters, Mystical Places, Area 51, Reverse swing , the Belmez faces or Crop circles.

LOCH NESS LAKE

The lake is about 24 km long, but only 1.5 km wide, and has a maximum depth of 230 m and a mean depth of 132 m.

LOCATION

Loch Ness is an extremely narrow and long lake, extending from the northeast to the southwest in the Inverness area of north Scotland.

ORIGIN AND CHARACTERISTICS

•First appearance of the Loch Ness monster.

•Date: April 1933

•Description: Thirty feet long, had series of humps and a head like a snake.

Page 7: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Does it really exists?

•The first recorded Loch Ness Monster sighting was by St Columba in 565 AD.

•In 1933 a Mrs Mackay spoke of having seen an enormous fish in Loch Ness and unknowingly triggered a huge surge of interest in 'Nessie' which is as strong today as ever.

Research by scientists

•Tim Dinsdale, researcher, hoping for a Loch Ness Monster

sighting in the 1960s

•Loch Ness Investigation Bureau (LNIB) .

So Nessie remains a mystery…..

Official Secrecy

• Top secrecy

• Marked borders

• Security guards

• Security cameras

• Warnings

• Prohibited photography

Surprised Claim

In 1989 BOB claims that : ”He worked on aliens space craft”

Rumors had circulated for decades but lazar is first to claims that he worked on

aliens space craft , which seems convincing

Encounter Claims

• It is not possible .

• Lazar is mad .

• Lazar had no proves .

• Just getting a media hype .

• Area 52 is working…Area 51?

Lazar, Still Alive

• Bob Lazar is still alive .

• Available on website.

• Still supporting his pint of view .

Mystery Is Still Unsolved

Reverse swing

A mystery relating cricket

Page 21: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Conventional and Reverse swing

Conventional Swing• Age of ball, fairly new

• Bowlers action and speed

• Atmospheric condition , moist and damp

Reverse swing• Age of ball, old

approximately 20-40 over's

• Bowlers action slingy

• Speed…??

• Atmospheric condition , sunny ,dry

Page 22: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

History

• Founder of reverse swing Sarfraz Nawaz • Act was polished and made famous by Imran khan

Page 23: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Conventional swing

• With conventional swing, the ball swings toward the rough side because that side moves slower through the air.

Page 24: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Speed???

It is believed that above 90 mph it doesn’t reverse..

But the evidence suggests otherwise.

THE BELMEZ FACES

THE BELMEZ FACES

Page 27: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

The Mystery

WHAT IS THE MYSTERY OF BELMEZ FACES?

• In 1971,in a small village of Spain, Maria Pereira saw “sad human faces” appearing on her cemented kitchen floor.

• Faces used to be both; male and female, small and large.

• They reappeared on her kitchen floor even after the floor was replaced.

• The appearances were characterized as a paranormal activity.

Page 29: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

The Mystery

• Paranormal Hypothesis:i. Bender, a researcher, said that “ In Bélmez, slight changes

of the faces' configuration during the period when the phenomenon was under seal (attested by a notary) have contributed to ensure its paranormal origin“

ii. Paranormal anecdotes José Martínez-Romero.

iii. The Seen and the Unseen Andrew Mackenzie .

Page 30: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

The Mystery

• Forgery Hypothesis:

i. Ramos Perera, president of the Spanish Society of Parapsychology, stated that “Through infrared photography we saw that this one had added pigmentation and even the paint brush bristles could be perceived. Of course, after that we

had no doubts it had been painted"

Page 31: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

The Mystery

i. Manuel Martín Serrano, a sociologist, believed it was a hoax for financial gain.

ii. Luis Ruiz-Noguez chemical testsoxidizing agents nitric acid, lead, sulphur compounds etc.

Page 32: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

The Mystery

• Conclusion:

Scientific studies suggest use of oxidizing agents, acids and paints to forge the Belmez faces. Paranormal studies claim such an activity with their own methods and experiences of researchers. However, one thing remains … The Mystery Of Belmez Faces!

CROP CIRCLES…. A MYSTERY!

Page 35: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

WHAT ARE CROP CIRCLES?

• A crop “circle” is a sizable pattern created by the flattening of a crop.

• It is a geometric pattern, often very intricate and complex, appearing in fields.

• These are usually found in wheat, barley, rye and maize crops mostly in England and other European countries.

Page 36: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

How were they first found?• The crop circle phenomenon was first reported in 1972 when two witnesses,

Arthur Shuttlewood and Bryce Bond witnessed that a large circular area of plants collapsed taking an unusual shape in Warminster, England.

• Immediately after this 80 eyewitnesses reported its formation which took less than twenty seconds to materialize.

• Then around the early 1990's, two elderly gentlemen Doug and Dave proclaimed that they have hoaxed all the circles and fooled the world however they were soon discovered pranksters.

Page 37: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Increasing Popularity….• During 1990s the phenomenon began to

really manifest itself in a quantitative manner.

• At least 190 formations were discovered and documented in 1999

• To date there have been over 9000 reported and documented crop circles throughout the world, with some 90% of them coming from England.

Page 38: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

What does science say?

• Research suggests that infrasound is producing such an effect.

• Soil samples taken from within crop circles show changes in its crystalline structure and mineral composition.

• Expert analysis states heat of 1500ºC would create such a change.

• They show evidence of ultrasound, and such frequencies are known to exist at ancient sacred sites.

• Mathematically, genuine crop circles have yielded five new geometric theorems based on Euclidian geometry.

• They are also encoded with sacred geometry.

Page 39: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

However skeptics still believe that they are manmade!

Page 40: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

• The lines in the formation are only six inches wide far too narrow for a human being to walk in.

• The formation recently appeared in the fields of soy beans in Ohio. Because they are organic there are no “tram lines” .

Page 41: Comm skills presentation...thursday (1)

Crop Circles remain a mystery!

• Man cannot create such an art so symmetrically

• Even through natural chemical reactions how can crops take shapes of historical symbols?

• How can these be formed in 2 to 4 hours ?
