APRIL UPDATES – CTN LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEECOVID-19 has currently put a damper on things. We have canceled April’s meeting and will tentatively resume in May.
• We had an opportunity to go to the Nurses Day on the Hill in February
• Opportunity to see how the process works (understood why it is so confusing and takes so long)
• Opportunity to have dinner with a state representative
• Identified 2 representatives for our Stop The Bleed initiative
• Sent a letter to the state representative supporting the Sunset review, Stop The Bleed and mention of future trauma initiatives
• Continuing fact-finding and work regarding Stop The Bleed, states that have bills in place and how funded so that we are ready to go when everything is back to normal
• May 21 is National Stop The Bleed Day; plans have been cancelled, and we will continue to update as May draws nearer
We are happy to report that in regard to the Sunset Review, the continuation of the State Board of Nursing and Nurse Practice Act were pushed through to the Senate
As always, please check the CTN website for minutes and sample letters
