OVERVIEW OF COAL MINE PROJECT OPPORTUNITY:

Asnapani-Jarangdih CMM block is located in the central part of East Bokaro Coalfield under CCL, the nearest township is Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, India. The CMM block has an area of 4 Sq.Km. The CMM Block has an

estimated coal resource of 620 MT and a gas resource of 6.2 BCM. There are 22 coal seams (Seam Karo-I to Jarangdih Top)

in the area. Jarangdih U/G mines are in operation in the Upper Jarangdih group of seams by Board and Pillar method. The virgin seams, Sawang ‘C’ to Karo-VI, are the target seams for CMM recovery. The coals are Low to Medium Volatile

Bituminous in rank and have an average gas content of over 10m3/t. A commercial CBM Project allotted to ONGC is in Pilot

phase and has shown encouraging CBM prospects.

An Expression of Interest has been invited for identification of suitable collaborator/technology provider for commercial

development of this CMM block. The block will be offered for commercial development by competitive bidding..

ESTIMATED ANNUAL EMISSION REDUCTIONS The prognosticated CBM resource is 6.2 BCM.

Considering 30% recovery, 1.86 BCM of methane can be recovered. Considering project life of 30 years, it has annual methane emission reduction potential of 62 MCM.
