Health Care Projects

Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, ME (1997) - Full architectural services that consolidated the Bath Hospital (leaving urgent care) into the Brunswick campus. This was five years prior to building a new Brunswick hospital. Work included a 12,000 S.F. two story addition including the Birthplace with 7 beds and a caesarian operating room, an addition for a new ICU nurse station with 3 additional beds, and multiple renovations for laboratory, EKG, blood draw, radiology, patient wings, (2) nursing station, administrative and patient records spaces. H.P. Cummings Construction Co. Mercy Hospital, Operating Room #8 Portland, ME - Full architectural services for an additional operating room, scrub room, and a second future operating room. The former two story courtyard was previously infilled and the second story space used for storage. The ceiling was too low for operating lights. The roof structure was cut away and jacked-up in place and reattached at a higher elevation. A row of third floor window sills were raised as well.

Mercy Hospital Fourth Floor, West Wing - Conceptual design for interior renovation of nursing unit. Existing plans for entire facility available.

Mercy Hospital - Offsite Recovery Center – Full architectural services for an interior renovation project including group-meeting rooms, therapists' offices and administrative spaces.

Goodall Hospital Sanford ME (2000 – 2001) Various space planning and interior renovation projects including: wellness center, Woodbury Hall, Deer Ridge, emergency room nurse station & Marlin wing.

Parkview Hospital Wellness Center, Brunswick, ME Conceptual design for new 40,000sf facility with enclosed pool, exercise room, physical and hydro-therapy rooms, elevated running track, locker rooms, administrative areas, demonstration kitchen, and conference room. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Lyndhurst, NJ Space planning for a large computer center space-planning project.

Lewiston Pediatrics

Lewiston Pediatrics (2005) 22,400 s.f. Hebert Construction Facilities for: 14 doctors offices, 33 exam rooms, reception, and administrative spaces, separate well & sick waiting rooms, a lunch room, board room, nurse stations, a small file area (records were digitized), and a classroom with 2nd evening entrance .

Steel frame building with flat metal deck roof, and 14’-0” tall SIPs (Structural Insulated Panel) exterior wall panels. What a joy it was to work with a group as large and well organized as this and they knew what they wanted!
