FACE-TO-FACE CLASSROOM) If you are reading this post, it is possible that you are toying with the idea of signing up for an online course, but perhaps you dont have a lot of experience studying online, if at all. If you have taken face-to-face classes all your life, being a little apprehensive at the beginning is normal, even if you are tech-savvy. However, taking an online course, as opposed to a face-to-face class, definitely has its perks. Here are five advantages to studying online. 1.Career advancement and hobbies: Studying online gives you more flexibility. You can work and fit your work schedule (and your hobbies) around your coursework more easily; even more so if you are taking an asynchronous class: an online class where you dont have to log in at a specific time for a live session but you can study and interact with your instructor and your fellow classmates at your own pace through, for example, the discussion forum. 2. Flexible schedule and environment: By studying online, you choose your own learning environment that works best for your needs. Taking an online course also means that you dont have to commute to class, which means less time spent on the bus and more study time sitting on your couch, the sound of a crackling fireplace in the background. 3.Self-discipline and responsibility:studying online requires more self-motivation and time-management skills, because you will spend a lot of time on your own without someone physically close to keep you focused on deadlines. Look at it this way: your online course will not only teach you geology or poetry, it will also help you become more self-motivated, a trait that will make you stand out in the workplace and beyond. It will look great on your resume. 4.More choice of course topics: Lets face it, when thinking about what to study, besides for interest and career opportuni- ties, where to study is also a deciding factor. This may limit the choice of subjects or courses to take. Studying online at your own convenience allows you to no longer worry about class location when choosing what to learn next. By taking an online course, you can really focus on the subject you are interested in and choose from the variety of online courses and programs. 5.LEARNING TECH SKILLS: If you've never been tech savvy, online classes will force you outside of your comfort zone (in a good way). You will have to learn to navigate the course lectures, download materials, interact with others online and communicate well digitally. Many people possess many good qualities but they are afraid of presenting those things in front of others. This is just because such people lack strong will power. A strong wind can uproot trees but not mountains. In the same way a strong wind can blow a healthy person without will power, but cannot do anything to a person who is though physically handicapped but has a strong will power. Strong will power leads to success. Without a strong will power you cannot achieve anything in your life. Why Tenzin Norgay and Edmond Hillary were the first to climb Mt. Everest? Because they had a strong will power. Will power- A hidden thing in every person (find the real in you). The list of such personalities is endless…. Why dont you be one in the list-by Mrs K.Jyothi ( Math Faculty) “Shall I take my next course online or shall I stick with my face-to-face classes?” shared by Mrs. Shakila Khanam( Social Faculty ) An excerpt from Illinois-Online Education written by Tania Heap

5 BENEFITS OF STUDYING ONLINE (VS. FACE -TO-FACE CLASSROOM)

If you are reading this post, it is possible that you are toying with the idea of signing up for an online course, but perhaps you don’t have a lot of experience studying online, if at all. You can work and fit your work schedule (and your hobbies) around your coursework more easily; even more so if you are taking an asynchronous class: an online class where you don’t have to log in at a specific time for a live session but you can study and interact with your instructor and your fellow classmates at your own pace through, for example, the discussion forum. 2. Flexible schedule and environment: By studying online, you choose your own learning environment that works best for your needs. Taking an online course also means that you don’t have to commute to class, which means less time spent on the bus and more study time sitting on your couch, the sound of a crackling fireplace in the background. 4.More choice of course topics: Let’s face it, when thinking about what to study, besides for interest and career opportuni-ties, where to study is also a deciding factor.

Why don’t you be one in the list…

We live in a beautiful world,

But people whose thoughts are rather disgusting than exquisite A world which is built on the grave of humanity. 200 years ago the white brought the black from Africa as their slaves And used them extravagantly,

Harassed them, Just because the black wholeheartedly served their insolent tyrants, The black of that time only thought one thing, Someday we would be free. That day came when they became free, But only to make the situation worse The whites brought the black as slaves, And now that they are free, The whites formed groups such as Restofarian, And want the blacks to go back to Africa Just because they are free I have seen all of the world, I have seen all of its disgust, But the only thing I hear when I close my eyes is, “I cant breathe” But George Floyd never knew it was a déjà vu in 19th century. We live in a world, Where the white stay exhilaratingly in AC’s But the black protesting for the injustice done to them, We live in a world, Where a white gets away for a murder of a white, But a black is imprisoned for stealing 9 dollars from a white. We live in a world, Which is developed but not yet developed, Where the people who demand justice are killed, Where people who demand equal rights are criminals , Where people are killed because of their colour,

The only mistake they made was being born black. I have written this poem based on the current events of racism taking place in the United States. – by Harsha Raj M., IX A

THE CHAOTIC RETURN It was a foggy day, While walking, my eyes got decayed. It was a dark night, To reach my destination, I did a fight. This was against fog, which obscured me. For , it was very hard to find the key. I hit a stone and I fell. To reach my destination, I went to hell. I got frustrated with these all, But I have to enter my success hall. My eyes were useless, And obstacles were nevertheless, My mind was full of chaos. And it was searching for oasis. Suddenly my body found oasis. A blind man showed me the way, By holding my hand I was stunned. I felt the loss of my existence, And stuck to his path. -by Sree Ganesh , IX A

Can e-learning and technology replace schools and workplaces completely? Some professionals argue that it can provide more personalized and customized solutions. However, I strongly believe that while technology is an enabler and has a lot to offer, it cannot replace regular schooling and brick-mortar workspaces. As the world reels from the terrible shutdown due to the dreaded covid-19 pandemic, unexpectedly environmental pollution has come down a little and the use of technology, computers and internet has become vastly necessary in terms of education, work and non-contact communication. People appear to have quickly adapted to this remote way of work and play. A lot of schools across the world have started academic activities setting up online-classrooms, sending notes and sharing assignment prompts. This shift has increased the use of video conferencing tools and other workplace applications. For instance, online classrooms, starting from Google classroom, zoom, Skype, Electa Goto Meeting and Tokbox are being used to connect with students and employees. Innovation and technology cycles have become significantly shorter, and driving innovation feels like being in the fast lane on the digital journey highway. With not just travel, shopping, restaurants and theatres being closed but also basics like gyms, games courts, barber shops and book shops, a novel way of doing the things we love has emerged through the use of technology by laypeople as well as artists, famous sportspeople, celebrities and nutritionists alike. They are providing alternatives for everything from online fitness clas-ses, mental health advice to creative spaces. Online educational programs saw an incredible rise in registrations. Yet, the disconnect looms large. While literally staying in the comfort of their homes, people still feel trapped in loneliness. The energy and synergy which is generated by people talking, working, playing, studying face to face in a shared physical space is missing. Even watching unrelated people at work or going about on the streets is a motivator. Now everything seems more tedi-ous and dull. This is because we must rethink the way we see education and work centres. Schools provide not just learning and qualification but also a carefully nurtured learning space which aims to stimulate curiosity, exploration, overall development and social growth. I miss not just my classes but the forbidden whisperings in my classroom, the corridors displaying our work on notice boards, the assemblies with my teachers and fools playing in the all too short lunch breaks. My parents say that increased house-work has taken up saved travel to work time. Workspaces do not merely house people or machines. They are not just product or service-providers but areas where human beings interact and fulfill each other's needs at various levels while fulfilling the organ-ization's goals. To summarize, technology is not always enough. I strongly believe that technology is a smart enabler, a layer to remove friction from everyday life and reduce labour. It cannot however replace life as we know it or provide more customization than that pro-vided by a human being with intelligence, knowledge and skills blended with warmth and caring.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old but on buildinga new."As we view the present scenario, we have been noticing that the widespread pandemicCOVID-19 is intensifying day by day.Covid-19 pandemic has shook the whole world andhas put a lock on earth from the past few months. Everything from schools to colleges touniversities have been shut down across the globe.Since then, it has becomea new way of living.Besides, there is a major concern of how can the syllabus of the schoolstudents be covered up in this huge gap. Many educational institutions racked their brains and cameup with a brilliant idea to conduct online classes Luckily, it was a blessing in disguisethat the educational boards have reacted quickly and recommended online classes

But after the first week I realized it’s almost the same as my real classroom, maybe because my teachers tried to explain us through different sources. We have both live interaction sessions and chat sessions, which made it much simpler to interact with teachers even when working from home. These sessions are even comfortable because we do our assignments and just send it by scanning instead of submitting in class.I know that virtual classrooms can never replace a normal classroom but my school is trying its best to have that work environment.A nice cooperation between the students and teachers will make it a perfect classroom.I can say that I like my online classes as I am spending my time productively instead of wasting around 3 valuable months in my life.A few bonus tips for you:-∙ Try to look for video lectures that are already there online∙ Take help from your teachers as much as possible∙ Don’t be scared to ask your doubts, it’s a symbol that you have learnt something∙ Try to use mind maps, flashcards and study tricks etc.∙Use acronyms to remember long sequences

When my online classes started, I had a question in my mind: Will I understand everything like I do in my real classroom?

for young learners.
