Dear Parishioners,

As we prepare for our Parish Picnic I ask that you do three things. First pray, second invite family and friends and finally volunteer. I

will roll up the shirt sleeves, sweat a little and help out. Know that it is a Parish event and we need everyone to help. If you have not

already signed up come into the Parish office or call and we can help find you a task to assist with OUR Picnic.

Our Parish Picnic is our largest fundraising event. It is through these efforts that we are able to do the ministry we do here at St. Mary.

I encourage you to do the same roll up your shirt sleeves and get involved. I hope that we have more people, more quilts, more food,

more profits and a whole lot of FUN!! Join us on September 8th and spread the word, invite your family and friends to our Picnic.

Summer Picnic Prayer

Heavenly Father, we give you praise and thanksgiving for all that you have given us. We look forward to a day for worship, work fel-

lowship and good times.

Our prayer at this time of year, when we come together for our Parish Picnic, is to ask you to bless our gathering with your beautiful

sunshine. We pray for a good response from our workers, parishioners, and your whole community of faith.

We ask you to guide us to do the very best to make our social a success. We place our faith in your hands, through Christ our Lord,

Amen.

reflect on your life, ideas, hopes, and dreams away from home,

school, and/or work. You can find an application and more

tion at the Parish Social Hall from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Please, no

St. Mary Preschool

The Open House was very successful! Thank you to everyone who made it. The students were able to

familiarize themselves with our classroom and meet some fellow classmates. I hope I was able to answer any questions and ease any nerves the parents might have had. Ms. Amy and I will be finishing up any classroom preparations this week. The first day of school for the Year 1 students will be Tuesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, September 4th for the Year 2 students.

Please say a special prayer for our first week of school.

Please bless the littlest of learners, So they may have courage and strength in this new situation, So their minds will be open to learn and to love, So school will feel like a place of safely and comfort, May they learn lessons to last a lifetime. Amen.

Ms. Lauren

Catholic Social Teaching

The pain of those becoming poor in the rising economic

inequality of our society is mounting. Therefore, on this

Labor Day 2013, let us renew our commitment to promote

the dignity of the human person through work that is hon-

orable, pays just wages, and recognizes the God-given

dignity of the working person. At the end of Mass we are

commanded "Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord."

We leave with a sense of mission to show one another

honor by what we do and say. Our mission takes us to the

millions of people who continue to suffer the effects of

the current economy.
