How does IT Admin Distributes Shield-Chromebook Extension?

1. School IT Admin logs into G-Suite at admin.google.com2. Then goes Device Management > Chrome Management and

selects “User Settings”3. On the left, school organizational units will be listed. These

lists can be imported into G-Suite from Active Directory4. dmin selects OU he wants to install the extension and clicks

“Manage Force-Installed Apps”5. Then selects “Specify a Custom App” and copy-pastes ID

and URL of the extension into corresponding fields and hits “Add”

6. Clicks “Save” for Custom App Management and then for User Settings

7. Then, when a user logs in with his school account, he/she can be identified

How to ensure that students log into with their school accounts?

Chromebook ensures that a user logs in before being able to start browsing the Internet. To ensure that a student logs in with his school account and not with a Google account, IT ad-min needs to “Manage Other People” and add student accounts as the only account. He should also disable “Guest Session”.

How to List OUs in Shield Portal?

Admin imports OU lists into Shield portal using a token, work-ing with the help of Google API integration.This list matches with the list in G-Suite.Might be dynamic or admin has to make sure the list Shield Por-tal is up-to-date
