1 PocketLab Chrome App User Manual PocketLab Chromebook App User Manual The PocketLab prototype works with Chromebooks with the latest Bluetooth chips (4.0 and newer). Most Chromebooks sold since 2013 are compable with PocketLab, including: HP Chromebook 11 and 14 Samsung Chromebook 2 Dell Chromebook 11 Chromebook Pixel Acer C720 Asus C200 PocketLab Sensor Hardware 1. Pull the plasc strip scking through the PocketLab case to remove the baery terminal cover. 2. Note: Somemes when the plasc strip is removed, the baery pops out of the baery holder. If the LED lights do not turn ON when the buon is pressed, check to see if the baery has popped out. App Installaon and Setup 1. The PocketLab app works best with the most current operang systems. PocketLab Chromebook App User Manual The PocketLab prototype works with Chromebooks with the latest Bluetooth chips (4.0 and newer). Most Chromebooks sold since 2013 are compatible with PocketLab, including:

PocketLab Sensor Hardware

1. Pull the plastic strip sticking through the PocketLab case to remove the battery terminal cover. 2. Note: Sometimes when the plastic strip is removed, the battery pops out of the battery holder. If the LED

lights do not turn ON when the button is pressed, check to see if the battery has popped out. App Installation and Setup

1. The PocketLab app works best with the most current operating systems. Make sure your Chrome OS version is up to date.

5. Agree to the access privileges that the PocketLab app needs to function. The PocketLab app needs access to the Bluetooth hardware to connect to the sensor.

Connect the PocketLab Sensor and App

1. Launch the PocketLab app. 2. Press the top button on the PocketLab sensor. The LED indicator will flash alternating red and green. 3. The serial number of the PocketLab sensor will appear on the app connection screen. 4. Left click on the PocketLab Icon to connect. 5. While the sensor is connecting to the app, the LED indicator will flash red.

6. You can also change the PocketLab sensor name to make it easier to recognize what device you are connecting to. Right click on the PocketLab icon to rename the device

Displaying Data on the PocketLab App

1. The LED indicator will flash green every 3 seconds while connected to the app. 2. The PocketLab app will move to the list of graph screens.

3. Left click on a graph name to display the PocketLab sensor data in real-time. 4. Left click the Settings button to change the data units or sensor data rate.

i. The slow rate is 1 data point/second, medium rate is 10 data points/second, and the fastest rate depends on the maximum allowed by each sensor (12-20 data points/second).

5. Left click the Zero button to zero out the offset of the sensor data. 6. To return to list of sensor graphs left click the Back button.

Recording, Reviewing, and Exporting Data

1. To record data for an experimental trial, left click the Record icon button. The existing graph data will clear and the current graph data will begin recording. To stop a recording, left click the Stop button above the graph.

2. After you stop the data recording, you can scroll and zoom into the recorded data with a left click and drag on the graph data. Drag your cursor horizontally to zoom in the time x-axis. Drag your cursor vertically to zoom in the data y-axis.

3. Press the Play button to see the data scroll across the graph. 4. Move the cursor over a data point to display the data and time values. 5. To delete the recorded data and start a new experimental trial, left click the Clear button. 6. To save or export the experimental data to Google Drive, left click the Save to Drive button.

i. The PocketLab app will create a folder in your Google Drive account called PocketLab.

ii. Data will be saved to Google Drive as a CSV file. You can open the CSV file using Google Sheets.

7. When you are finished reviewing and exporting the data, press Clear to return to the Data Display mode. Disconnecting the sensor

1. To disconnect the sensor, left click the Back button until you get to the connection screen. 2. Press the top button on the PocketLab sensor once. 3. The LED indicator will stop flashing and the PocketLab app will pop up a message that says connection is

lost. Left click Okay. 4. Close the PocketLab app.
