The Golden Branch

R ise, Prince, said the fairy

touching him three times with the

Golden Branch. «Be as accomplished as

you are handsome, and no man, either

before you or after you, will ever be

your equal.»

And as she tapped the prince three

times with the Golden Branch,

the princess’s wishes were granted: the

prince’s appearance was transformed

to reflect the beauty of his soul.

L’OCCITANE drew inspiration

from this magical story to create

a range of festive and radiant products

based around the Golden Branch so

that, this Christmas, all wishes can

come true…

Midnight had struck. The sound

of bells rang in the distance.

At the end of the Christmas Eve meal,

an olive branch was chosen by the

eldest son and given to the youngest,

in the presence of all the family. The

two brothers, holding the branch,

opened the heavy front door, slipped

into the dark of the night and started

to run around the house three times.

Once back in the main room, the

olive branch was blessed three

times with Provencal wine, by all the

family. Then the two brothers placed

the branch in the fireplace, making

sure it would keep burning until the

new year. As the first flames touched

the branch, it crackled and took on the

colour of gold…
