Exclusive PartiesWhether you are looking for an intimate dinner, an impressive drinks and canapé event or a unique space to party, Cardiff Castle has what you need.

Banqueting HallThe largest and one of the most impressive rooms in the Castle with high ceilings and atmospheric lighting, this room provides a spectacular setting for your event. The Banqueting Hall has hosted many grand events not only by the Bute family but the NATO Wales Summit too!

The LibraryThe perfect location for hosting a standing drinks reception before your guests take their seat at the Banqueting Hall. Complete with all its original furnishings, magnificently carved bookcases line the interior walls with exquisite detailing.

The UndecroftThe stone-vaulted Undercroft is one of the oldest parts of the Castle and is also the setting for Cardiff Castle’s extremely popular Welsh Banquets. Decorated with hanging banners and drapes, the Undercroft is hugely atmospheric and with its own private bar and reception area.

Guest Tower Rooms An exclusive self-contained suite, once used only by the closest friends and guests of Lord Bute. The Guest Tower Rooms boast magnificent views of the Norman Keep and Castle Grounds. Intimate, elegant and totally bespoke - perfect for smaller parties.

Christmas Welsh Banquet


For an informal evening of fabulous music and great entertainment, the Castle’s traditional Welsh Banquet is a must. With Mead tasting on arrival and a Master of Ceremonies to guide you through the evening you will soon be joining in all the hwyl of the night!

Terms and Conditions


CHRISTMAS PARTY PACKAGES 2021

• All Christmas Welsh Banquets are subject to demand exceeding the minimum numbers required to proceed with a successful event. If not, alternative dates or a refund may be offered. Cardiff Castle will not be liable for any transport or accommodation costs

• A 50% deposit per person is required within 14 days of booking to guarantee your spaces. If no deposit is received, the spaces will be released.

• Confirmation of final numbers, menu choices (including special dietary requirements) and any wine orders must be received no later than 4 weeks prior to the event. If you make a booking within 4 weeks of the event, full payment, menu choices and pre-ordered wine will be due immediately.

• Wine provided as part of package cannot be upgraded on the night; however additional wine can be pre-ordered or purchased on the night from the bar.

• Please note that we are unable to cater for special dietary requirements without prior notice. Details must be provided no later than 4 weeks prior to the event. Changes made after this time will be at the discretion of Cardiff Castle.

• You can add to your booking at any time (subject to availability and payment of deposit). However, if you reduce your numbers you will not receive a refund and payments cannot be transferred to cover any other services.

• If you are paying on behalf of a large group, please arrange one payment to cover the entire party. We are unable to accept individual payments.

• In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a party (due to weather conditions for example) or change the entertainment, you will be informed and offered an alternative date / event or a refund, without liability to Cardiff Castle.

• Table layouts, table sizes and seating plans are at the discretion of Cardiff Castle. We reserve the right to split larger parties into smaller groups, and for smaller groups to be seated with others, depending on final numbers for each event.

• We are unable to offer sole hire for any of our events unless payment is made for the full capacity.


• Dinner service will begin promptly so please arrive at the time stated on the confirmation letter. Should you arrive late, you may forfeit your drinks reception / part of the meal and no refund will be made.

• Every effort will be made to accommodate special requests but guarantees are not possible.

• If a member of your party has mobility issues, please let us know at the time of booking.

• Cardiff Castle reserves the right to refuse entry.• All prices include VAT at the current rate. If you require a VAT

receipt, please let us know.• Menu changes may occur due to availability of ingredients. We

will offer a suitable alternative at equal or higher value without liability.

• By booking your event with us, you agree to accept the terms and conditions.

• Due to the ongoing and unpredictable nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cardiff Castle may be required to alter event arrangements at very short notice. Changes might include, but are not limited to, reduction in attendance, reconfiguration of floor plan, removal of certain elements, or full cancellation. Every effort will be made to fulfil events with as little disruption as possible and to accommodate all parties in a fair and responsible manner, in accordance with Government guidelines at the time.
