Approval tabled until January meeting. Chris Hollar reviewed State Fair reimbursement guide and noted that five individuals have expressed an interest in taking Award of Excellence projects down to the State Fair.

Old Business:

• It was noted that eleven teams have signed up for the county-wide bowling event at Rose Bowl Lanes on January 6. • Bruce Mound has been reserved for February 10. Chris Hollar would like people to let her know if they are planning to attend so that she has an idea of

expected attendance. Two hundred and three Swiss Miss packets have been donated for this event. • A handout for the electronic fair entry system was distributed. Neillsville High School may be willing to help supply Chrome Books, along with a helper

to assist in their use. Training for volunteers using the system during the fair will be held the week before the fair. • The Clark County 4-H Awards Banquet is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 20. Location options are still being considered. • The Clark County Fairgrounds Strategic Plan was reviewed and discussed. • Chris Hollar will be seeking clubs who may be interested in providing food services during the Area Animal Science Days in June.

• Record book and award revisions committee work was reviewed. These revised materials will be posted to the website. • The Executive Board retreat will be held at Sunset Pines on January 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Lori Hendrickson is in the process of compiling the Clark County 4-H Assessment responses, and the Clark County Fair Judging Qualtrics Survey data

was made available to board members.

New Business:

• Chris Hollar noted that a 2019 Plat Book would require planning to begin in 2018. We currently have 20 boxes of 2016 Plat Books remaining.

• The educational topic for the All Leaders’ Meeting on January 8 was discussed. The need for improving the recreational aspect of local club meetings was noted, and Chris will plan to address this as part of the educational topic at the January 8 meeting. The coaches’ meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. prior to the` All Leaders’ meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Loyal City Hall.

• Amy Gerhardt encouraged board members to remind clubs to apply for the Mutual of Wausau grant of $400.

Committee Reports:

• Junior leaders update given by Chris Hollar. Discovery Day will be on Dec. 27 at Greenwood High School. Clover Camp Challenge date has been changed to March 17. All youth ages 12 and older are invited to a Chillax evening at Sunset Pines on January 20, beginning about 6 p.m. An evening of games, movies, and relaxing is planned.

• Inter State Exchange update given by Joan Buchholz. She is working on finalizing the dates—possibly the third week of July. • Horse members will not be participating in the Area Animal Science Days due to a conflict with another horse show. • Livestock YQCA training is being planned for December 27, Greenwood Cafetorium following Discovery Day activities. Individuals may also choose to

do the training on line for a $12 fee. • Swine project members who receive a pink in the show will not be eligible to sell in the Market Sale this year. This decision will stand for a one-year trial

and is to be revisited next year. • Rabbit members have a market education class on 1/15/18. The committee members are exploring the possibility of participating in Area Animal

Science Days. Chris Hollar Report:

• There has been no interest expressed in an instate trip this year, as well as no parent volunteers as facilitators. As a result, there will be no instate trip planned this year.

• Chris Hollar noted that Clark County will be undergoing a Civil Rights Review this year.

The meeting concluded at 8:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Susan Stiemann - Secretary
