Mark and his teams are also overseeing the introduction of a architecture, the transformation of Economist.com and the introduction of a best of breed, cloud based marketing platform supporting the company in its digital transformation. Previously Mark was Head of Architecture at The Telegraph and held lead enterprise architect roles with GlaxoSmithKline, Home Office and BBC Worldwide.

Highly technical folks are hard to manage and Juergen believes DT have instilled some fairly unique practices on their team that bring skills such as executive presence, business judgment, negotiating for better business outcomes, moving from a hero-victim-villain culture to a creator-coach-challenger culture, etc. That skill building made a huge difference in driving large-scale, systemic change in the business.
