Cover the nose with papier-mâché and keep going until half of the balloon is covered. Let this dry overnight. Get creative and decorate your mask! Use the black paint to make your design. Brush white glue on to the black areas of your mask, place the cracked eggshells onto the wet glue and press down. Crunch! Brush white glue on the parts of your mask that don’t have eggshells, and sprinkle coffee grounds onto the glue. Blow up the balloon and tape it in the box so it won’t flop around. 1 3 6 7 10 8 4 Dip the newspaper strips into the glue mix (or papier-mâché paste) and stick it on the balloon in all different directions. 2 Create crazy hair by taping cardboard strips to the back of your mask. Glue the pineapple stems to the cardboard. Use clothespins to hold the pineapple stems in place as they dry. Make papier-mâché paste! Mix 1/2 cup of flour with 1 cup of water and add a pinch of salt. Mix well. Heads up – this project does require overnight “dry ” time. 9 Pop the balloon with your pencil and carefully pull the balloon out of the mask. 5
