*Why exactly CHAPTER? Idea for the meaning of
the project name.
*Basic call - "Let's open a new chapter in
understanding" the problem of corporal
punishment against children
*To increase knowledge and skills in authority in the field ofeffectively and positive parenting and upbringing inaccepting, constructive and fulfilling way
*To build unified methodology for presenting theproblem and rethinking of corporal punishment (CP)
*To raise the society general awareness to difficultexperiences and consequences that CP has on the childrenand adolescents
*To explore and bring "best practice" at internationallevel in 3 EU MS, with a strong upbringing patriarchalconception
*To coordinate the efforts of various social structures andcommunities to work in direction of legislativechanges and virtually eliminate the issue
* Description and presentation of best practices by the Icelandic model inregards to Child Protection against Corporal Punishment (CPCP), EvrisFoundation. Explore and transfer the "best practices" at international levelin 3 EU MS
* Training of trainers (ToT), 4 days in Bulgaria. The training will includerepresentatives of all partners. The training will be held by Icelandicexperts in coping with CP against children. The training will include skillsfor leading groups of different ages (specific characteristics andtechniques), communication skills, leadership, facilitation, gametechniques, etc.
* Developing a manual for trainers – CHAPTER-comprehensive program ofcare in direction of recognition and empowerment of children and theirparents. This will include skills for leading groups, working with differentage groups, communication skills and leadership, game techniques, work onthe problem CP (identification and support), code of ethics of working withchildren.
* Regular supervisions in regards to the piloting implementation of themethods in different countries - Evris, PuF.
Transferring and piloting of Icelandic
experience.
* Conducting screening among the major groups of CYP,
* Producing 3 (three) practical methodologies:
* Methodology for working with children (aged 4-6 years). The methodology will include a description and
age characteristics, identification of physical and emotional scars as forms of CP, ways of acting out and
support.
* Methodology for working with children (10-12 ages).
* Methodology for working with pupils at primary level of education, future parents and parents. The
methodology will include: description of the problem, cultural attitudes, age characteristics of children,
the types of parenting and will provide practical skills for positive parenting.
* Piloting of developed methodology for working with children aged 4-6 years
* Piloting of practical methodology for working with pupils at primary level of education
* Practical methodology for parents. Parents will go through the same modules (format for adults) 4 days x 3
hours. Training module will be presented under the title: "School for parents - roles and relationships".
* Producing and piloting of practical methodology to work with future parents (students in the last class of the
education).
* Re-survey among the trained children, parents and young people to assess the effectiveness and changing
attitudes. Еvaluation of training conducted through re-survey.
* Conducted 3 day training with 30 teachers and educators, working with children
* Training 3 day with 30 for professionals
* Working groups for evaluation and monitoring of the training results.
* Electronic database of specialist support services, working in the area of child protection mapping
good practices of organizations. Mapping best practices and specialized services and institutions that
support children affected by CP, prevention or other, in 4 partner countries. On the website of each
organization will be presented and the mechanism for coordinated response to children, affected or at
risk
* Multidisciplinary approach in working with children affected by CP - coordination and preventive
precautions.
* The method of working with children and adolescents will be based on the principle of “Case
management”.
* When the multidisciplinary team it should be handled on a "Case Conferences". Personal-centered
approach, including specialists from key institutions involved in instances of child abuse, law
enforcement and judicial authorities.
* Case management will be held locally in three cities in Bulgaria - Pernik, Dupnitsa and
Blagoevgrad.
* National representative study of the situation in the country. Bulgaria and Portugal
* To raise the awareness on the topic of CPCP we plan to conduct an integrated communication campaign which
will pool all relevant communication channels including TV, print media, online media, social media, etc.
* Filming and disseminating of video clip. Production of 2 video spots.
* Communication campaign will use also educational communication tools, such as:
Creation of Web-platform. Web platform for sharing of good EU practices, dissemination of resources and
option for Q&A / advices from relevant professionals.
Promotion of the project results through a Facebook page. Dissemination of the video spot in social media,
including Facebook, relevant national and international video webs and all communication channels of the
National Network for Children, uniting 141 organizations.
Creating and printing brochure 1 – brochure with pictures for children aged 3-6 years.
Creating and printing brochure 2 – “Is this punishment?” for children aged 12-18 years.
Creating and printing brochure 3 – for parents.
* Carrying out a national information campaign against CP. Held a large-scale national information campaign
against CP. Printing leaflets for the campaign, posters , created banners and conducting the campaign on-
line.
* 5 round tables. (2 in Bulgaria, 1 in Cyprus, 1 in Iceland and 1 in Portugal). A search of good national
practices for coordinated actions at all levels, optimizing the legal regulations and interpretative element.
* Final conference. International final conference in Sofia with the participation of representatives of partner
organizations. We anticipate the participation of 80+ participants from governmental and non-governmental
organizations working on the problem.
* Specialist support services will:
* -improved knowledge, skills and

* -unified understanding (4 countries)
regarding CP and child protection
* -working on established methodologies
for training of children, parents and
professionals
*A wider group of professionals will:
* -have access to high quality, innovative

transferring good practice in the
participating countries
* Children affected of CP:
* -will be empowered and equipped to help keepthemselves/peers safe
* -reduce risks of future victimisation
* -developed knowledge, skills and a support system
* Young people, future parents and society:
* -have access to brochures and other materials created for them
* -have knowledge for protecting options against CP and supportingservices
* -understanding that CP is a violation against children’s rights
* -visible change of society attitude regarding CP
* -prompting attitude/policy changing through sensitising trainingand campaigns
* -developed 1 manual for trainers (adapted for 3 contexts)
* -developed ToT methodology
* -developed training methodology for professionals and teacher
* -developed methodology for working with children aged 4-6 years
* -developed of practical methodology for working with pupils at primary level of educationies
* -developed practical methodology to work with future parents
* -2 national researches
* -2 action research reports
* -national information campaigns in 3 countries
* -trained 90 professionals from supporting services
* -trained 90 teachers
* -3 types of brochures
* -posters (8000) & leaflets (19000) (for each country)
