On Interoperability E-ZPass customers can now use their transponder to enjoy seamless travel on nearly 900 miles of toll roads in Florida. By enhancing the SunPass system and partnering with E-ZPass, customers using the SunPass PRO can travel toll roads in 18 states along the East Coast and west to Illinois. Florida draws 100 million-plus visitors each year because of its wonderful weather and fun attractions, and many visitors have an E-ZPass account. Having E-ZPass accepted on Florida’s toll roads makes a lot of senseand dollars. It is easier to capture a toll transaction when it occurs instead of mailing an invoice, which costs more for customers. Accepting E-ZPass on Florida’s toll roads is an important step in achieving national interoperability. Interoperability means that a customer who has a prepaid account with one toll agency can travel and have their tolls charged against their account at other toll agencies.
