Expectations For Mobile Labs(Training)

Teachers

Page 2: C:\Fakepath\Expectations For Mobile Labs

Mobile labs are located in the media centers at each building

Page 3: C:\Fakepath\Expectations For Mobile Labs

Washington teachers will need the combination for the mobile lab in order to

unlock the cart.

Middle School teachers will need a key to unlock the

mobile lab.

Page 4: C:\Fakepath\Expectations For Mobile Labs

Teachers are expected to keep the mobile lab cart locked when transporting the laptops to and from the

media center.

Page 5: C:\Fakepath\Expectations For Mobile Labs

Teachers are expected to pass the laptops out to students or designate a "laptop helper" to help pass them out. Students are not allowed to carry the laptops around

by themselves. This will hopefully eliminate any accidents from occurring due to congestion/high traffic around the mobile lab cart.

The power cords should never be removed from the cart. Any laptops in need of charging must be

charged on the cart.

When students are finished using the laptops make sure that they log off the computer and then put it in hibernation mode before closing the laptop. Please go over this with your students when they first log on to the laptops.

Please collect all laptops and lock the cart when leaving the classroom. Please do not leave the laptops out

on the desks during any breaks.

Page 9: C:\Fakepath\Expectations For Mobile Labs

Please count the laptops to make sure all of them have been accounted for before your students leave your classroom. Do not allow students to leave until all

laptops have been placed back in the cart.

The mobile lab should be returned to the media center when you are finished using it for the day.

If your students are having problems logging on, try the following technique: (MS teachers)

1. The first three symbols need to be lit up in order for your students to be able to log on. The second symbol is the wireless connection symbol. If this is not lit up, press Fn/F11 at the same time. Once it is lit up, your students should be able to log on.

Still a Problem…

2. If your students still cannot log on after trying Fn/F11, have them restart their laptop and try again. If a student continually gets the message that there are no available servers, please see Mrs. Erickson (for MS and WA teachers) or Mr. Crouch (for MS teachers) for assistance

The Middle School laptops have the following software downloaded on them:

Mrs. Erickson would be happy to help you come up with ideas on how to use these tools in your classroom!
