Jesus told his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." - For the disciples, the temptation was for them to fall asleep. It had been a long week. All Jerusalem was filled with people getting ready for the Passover. Everything probably took extra time and effort. There were the crowds on Palm Sunday. And, there was avoiding the crowds after that, especially after Jesus cleared the Temple. There was no rest. Jesus knew this. He asked them to pray anyway. The hour was late. The betrayer was at hand. Jesus needed their support, their prayer. Part of the disciples was ready to do anything for the kingdom of God. The other part was lazy. They had several excellent excuses. However, the Temple Guards were not interested in their excuses. Judas did not wait until they had a more convenient time to pray. We do not know the hour. We do not know how late it really is. We do not know who is coming down the garden path. So, pray. Pray without ceasing. I am excited that so many of you have volunteered to pray going into Resurrection Morning, Easter. Mission of the Month MISSION OF THE MONTH IS -The mission of the month for April is Health Kits for Zimbabwe. This year the conference has asked our district to make Health Kits to be sent to the people of Zimbabwe. The kits will contain medications and toiletries. We are going to make it easy for you! The Missions Committee is asking that you help by donating money. Volunteers will then shop for the health items and assemble the kits. One kits costs about $20, and we have a goal of 50 kits. Thank you for giving generously!
