The ePortfolio is a web-based system that users access on-line.

This electronic portfolio provides students with the tools required to not only create records, but also to manage, collaborate, reflect, and evaluate their experiences resulting in a greater understanding and appreciation of both their academic and professional education and learning.

Students are encouraged to reflect on their achievements by linking the evidence collected to specific learning outcomes.

BOH students are emerging professionals and, as such, they are encouraged to take control of their own learning and plan their professional futures.

Professional Development Plans can be started while studying forthe BOH degree.

This electronic portfolio provides Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists with the tools to document and provide evidence as required by the DCNZ before it will grant an Annual Practicing Certificate in their registered scope(s) of practice.

Within the Portfolio a curriculum vitae can be prepared for potential employment.

Therapists and Dental Hygienists who practice in New Zealand.

RataMetrosideros robusta

The young leaves were chewed for toothache. The nectar was used for sore throats.

A decoction made by boiling pieces of bark in water is said to be a lotion for wounds.

Several species of Metrosideros contain - and -pinene, known for their antiseptic properties.

The roots were skinned and boiled and the liquid was use as a mouthwash and substitute for Epsom salts.

The blanched base of the leaf or root was beaten to a pulp, heated or roasted, and applied hot to abscesses or tumours.

Flax gum has been used to treat burns, wounds and diarrhoea.
