As we enter the month

of June, it is helpful to

recall how we focused

on Commitment in

May. Our Personal

Dedication Sunday

Worship Celebration, our

Mother’s Day Sunday

Worship, and our Youth

& Confirmation Sunday

Worship remind us of the

great importance of our

Commitment and living

out our Relationship with

our Divine Parent. I was

impressed by our Youth

& Confirmation Sunday

Worship Celebration! I

thank all of our Youth,

Confirmands, and Adult

Leaders for the Great

Worship Celebration!

June builds on May’s

focus on Commitment

and reminds each of us

of our Identity as

followers of Jesus

Christ. Join in June’s

opportunities to celebrate

our Relationship with and

Commitment to our Lord

and Savior, Jesus Christ:

Sunday, June 1st, the

sermon is “Why did God

give him authority?”

and it is based on John

17:1-11. We will share

in Holy Communion.

Pentecost Sunday,

June 8th, the sermon is

“How Many Languages

Can You Speak?” based

on Acts 2:1-21 by

Rev. Charles Brown.

Father’s Day Sunday,

June 15th, we will

Recognize and Honor

our Fathers and

Grandfathers! We will

share in the Sacrament

of Holy Communion.

The title of the sermon is,

“We have been given

authority — now

what?” and it is based

on Matt. 28:16-20.

Sunday, June 22nd,

the sermon will be titled

“What do we expect?”

and it is based on Matt.

10:24-39. The Chancel

Voices will present a

number of special

anthems by memory.

Our “The Pirates Who

Don’t Do Anything: A

Veggie Tales VBS!” Mini-VBS is scheduled

for 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

on Sat., June 28th. I

encourage our children to

attend and to invite their

friends!

Vacation Bible School

Sunday, June 29th, the

Mini-VBS Students

will sing and they will

be recognized during

the Worship celebration.

Join in celebrating our

Identity as followers of

Jesus Christ June! I

look forward to seeing

you. — Pastor Wells

Martin Luther once wrote, “To be

a Christian without prayer is no

more possible than to be alive

without breath.” We can give a

brief thought of an ill friend, a

family in crisis, a young person

needing direction, and we can

have a heavy heart for a lost loved

one. Our thoughts are good but

there is no substitute for prayer.

Church Camp Slumber Falls: from www.slumberfalls.org: “For over 50 years Slumber Falls Camp has been providing a quality experience in Outdoor Ministry to thousands of children and youth. It is our goal to touch the lives of children with the love of God for all creation. Our mission calls us to be inclusive of all. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here! Camps are typically a week long and have approximately 40-60 campers. We intentionally keep our numbers low to provide each child with the opportunity for lots of individual care and attention. Over the years, Slumber Falls Camp has been known for creating lasting friendships. With our small cabin groups, team building, and spiritual enrichment, it is easy for campers and counselors to form those lasting relationships that model our relationship with God.” Church Camps: Register your camper today for Slumber Falls or The Master’s Workshop (www.tmwcamp.org). For more information about camp, contact Mary Quick.
