OBJECTIVETo determine and analyse the average speed of the roadway / highway.APPARATUS :

PROCEDURESelect a suitable site along Jalan Raja Musa Mahadi road near the entrance of the polytechnic. (Make sure the site chosen is not dangerous and does not interfere with existing traffic).For the purpose of this study, an observer is appointed to observe vehicle speeds using radar gun. The radar gun send out a radio signal, then receive the same signal back as it bounces off the target object. However, due to a phenomenon called the Doppler Effect, if the object is moving, the frequency of the radio waves is different when they come back, and from that difference the radar gun can calculate the object's speed.Do these for 15O vehicles or more.

With this experiment we can know the rate of safety at this area. This is the ways that people usually using for works at morning and back at evening. At this area has school and hostel, so many people will used this road. So the drivers should follow the rule that goverment has given. The reference point to end timing may be a signpost in the observers sight line. An accurate sketch of the site should be documented, including number of lanes, position of observer, and description of reference points.

CONCLUSIONThe conclusion is, Jalan Raja Musa Mahadi is safe for road user. This is because, road user is follower the speed limit and the road surface is in good condition. The highest frequency is 45 vehicles with the speed 46-50 Km/h and the lowest frequency is 1 vehicles with speed 21-25 Km/h 66-70 Km/h.
