TARGET: EDUCATION 3.0

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with senior members of the education community at one of the premier events of the year. The Canadian Association for University Continuing Education (CAUCE) and Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) 2016 Conference is a cost-effective way for you to engage FACE-TO-FACE with key decision makers from public, private and post-secondary institutions from Canada’s pre-eminent institutions.

The ConferenceClose to 250 leaders in education and technology-enabled learning will gather in Waterloo to explore the shifting directions for the future of education.

Technology continues to change the way we learn, the way we teach, and the way we access information. New possibilities to engage students and improve their learning experiences are enabled by advancements in technology and alternate approaches. Creative pedagogy coupled with openly shared digital resources are inspiring educators to explore new paths. This conference will spur conversations about current innovations as well as the implications and opportunities for future innovations.

Our ThemeOur theme (Target: Education 3.0 – Possibilities at the Nexus of Pedagogy, Technology, and Access) will examine the forces exerted by technological change, societal demands, and ground-breaking research on the educational landscape. These forces are reshaping the way we create, access, and even think about learning. The four streams we will focus on are:

Learning Effectiveness & Innovation In a world of rapid technological changes, it is easy to get caught up in the latest fads. What emerging trends will really make a difference in the world of education? When does innovation truly equal effectiveness?

Learning Environments &Technology New technologies are creating vast opportunities for change in both physical and virtual learning environments. What will the next generation learning environments look like? How do we make good choices about how to spend scarce budget dollars?

Marketing Educators need to embrace emerging trends and technology to remain vital, while integrating the right tools and techniques to achieve our goals. Demographics are changing, our learners are becoming more sophisticated, devices are always on, and noise is persistent. How can we cut through the everyday clamour? How do we measure effectiveness?

Continuous Learning & Professional Development In today’s employment market, people need to continuously learn and grow in order to remain relevant. We, as educators, cannot ignore the massive shift in who our learners are, and what they need to be successful. How do we design programs to meet their needs? How do we, our learners, partners and employers judge success?
