Program Overview: The net energy savings realized in a properly insulated building are well understood. However, as design professionals strive to maximize thermal resistance, yet reduce mass in the wall assembly, insulation is increasingly being positioned in both the stud wall and the exterior side of the building envelope. This split insulation concept has introduced a number of design issues and concerns; particularly as relative to fire resistance, moisture management and well drying rates. This program focuses on the unique properties of stone wool insulation and suggest how it can improve thermal, fire, water and sound suppression performance in a well detailed wall assembly.

AMON ACKLEY, P.E. – Wagner-Hohns-Inglis, INC., Consultants tothe construction industry, Orlando, FL.

MELANIE BISSON CSI, CDT, is the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Eoxul, Inc.and lives in Nashville, Tn. She holds a dual B.S. in marketing and entrepreneurship

from Syracuse University and is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program atVanderbilt University. She has been with Roxul for five years and in the building materials industry for ten years, spending time in residential and commercial sales roles.

MR. MARSHALL BROSS – Quikrete Companies/Commercial Products Group. Marshall started his Career in the building industry working for a contractor as an Estimator and Project Manager. Today, Marshall has over 15 year’s experience and runs the stuccoprogram for Quikrete in the State of Florida. He is an active member of the ICRI, National Professional Estimator Assoc.,and the Florida Lath and Plaster Bureau. Currently, he holds several industry certifications in waterproofing, concrete restoration and EIFS and Stucco.

JUSTIN FLEMING – American Cement/Sales Manager. Justin has been in the building materials industry since 2003 with experience across multiple product lines and territories. He is also experienced in logistics, business to business sales, specifications and policy change. He is involved in ASTM, Florida Lath and Plaster Bureau and Florida Concrete Association. He also holds several industry certifications and obtained his B.S. from the University of Florida, Gainesville.

CHERYL FOLEY – Fl. Surety Bonds, Inc. is a knowledgeable agent who began hersurety career in 2000. She is a licensed agent and has attended all three levels of the National Assoc. of Surety Bond Producers. Her clients have benefited from competitive bon programs and rates as a result of her expertise and credibility with surety companies. She enjoys helping contractors grow their businesses by solving their bond issues and positioning them for the best bonded opportunities.

RYAN KEETON is he District Sales Manager for Rockfon, a manufacturer that makes a full line of grid suspension systems (Chicago Metallic), specialty metal ceilings and acoustical ceiling tile. He resides in Eustis, Fl. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from FSU. He has been with Rockfon for almost five years and has been in the building industry for eleven years with his time spent selling concrete/block and in the framing/drywall industry before joining Rockfon. He also is a first-time father.

KIM NIV is a professional agent who has been bonding contractors since 1997. She is a licensed Florida agent, who most recently graduated from the inaugural National Assoc.of Surety Bond Producers. Kim’s clients range from small and emerging businesses including many minority-owned companies, to well-established large companies. She mentors contractors and helps solve their bond problems whether they are start-ups or established companies.

CHUCK ROBERTS – Performance Management Group, Inc., an engineer with 50+ year experience at Architecture, engineering and construction firms.

GREGG SCHOPPMAN – FMI, Tampa, Fl., Principal and Florida Consulting Manager. As a principal with FMI, Gregg specializes in the area of productivity and project management. He also leads FMI’s project management consulting practice. In addition to these responsibilities, Gregg also leads the consulting management group of FMI’s Florida office. Gregg was named one of the Top 25 Consultants of 2014 by Consulting Magazine, receiving the highest number of nominations for that year’s recipient group.

G. MICHAEL STARKS – Sr. Consultant. Mike entered the construction industry in 1981 in the plaster and drywall business on the supply/distribution side. He moved to the manufacturer’s side in 1986 with what was the Santee Cement Co. Mike is a licensed contractor and eventually upgradedhis license to a Class A General Contractor. He was a founding member of the Masonry Association of Florida and founding member of the Fl. Lath & Plaster Bureau.

“STUCCO BASICS” an overview for the stucco Contractors and employees presented by Justin Fleming, American Cement Co., and Marshall Bross, Quikrete/Spec-Mix. This course will be a basic review of both the 2 coat and 3-coat stucco Claddings in reference to current Florida Codes and the ASTM Standards. In this seminar you will cover the basic components of stucco assemblies, including lath and accessories, acceptable substitutes, proper installation methods and details, limitations and benefits of stucco assemblies and various types of stucco finishes currently available.
