N. Modern Quilts- an improvisational quilt inspired by an idea or concept rather than a pattern while giving consideration to mixed media, symmetry and the filling of negative space.

O. Youth- Quilted items made by anyone younger than 16 years of age.

P. Other Quilted Items – Clothing, purses, home-décor, etc. Q. AHQ Challenge – members only R. Vintage/Antique - no sleeve required. These quilts will be

displayed during bed-turnings held several times each day with histories of the quilts featured. If you know history of your quilt, (maker, recipient, pattern, etc.) please include this information with your registration.

The AHQ Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to re-assign a quilt’s category. Every effort will be made to insure the safety and careful handling of all quilts. The owner, however, assumes all responsibility for loss, damage, theft, or accident that may occur.

Entries will be accepted for display on Friday, Nov. 6th, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Kingsport Civic Auditorium

Pick-up time for quilts is Sunday, Nov. 8th from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

To submit a quilt: You must complete a separate registration form for each entry. All entries must be postmarked by Oct. 22nd, 2020. Multiple entries may be sent together. Detach registration portion and send entry(s) to: Sandy Sanders, 780 Liberty Dr., Kingsport, TN 37663. Or this can be emailed to: sandysandersquilts@gmail.com. Each quilt must be constructed of 3 layers, quilted (except Antique) and

must have a 4” sleeve attached to the top back for hanging on a rod.

It must be clean (no pet hair or smoke) and in good repair. (Note: entries

longer than 95” will be pinned.) At the conclusion of the show, “People’s

Choice” awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in each category

except Vintage/Antique quilts. All quilts previously entered at an AHQ

Quilt Show cannot be re-entered.

PATTERN AND OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THIS QUILT: (This will be printed and displayed on your quilt label at the show.) Please describe your quilt: list the pattern name and designer – if not an original design – techniques in making it, and/or other details.
