Carroll County General Sessions Theft From Building – Rob- ert D. McDaniel came to the McKenzie Police Department to report his weapon had been stolen. Mr. McDaniel stated that around 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon, on March 6, he en- tered the men’s bathroom at Rural King on Highland Drive in McKenzie. He stated he had laid his gun, a 9 MM Ruger LC9 down. Mr. McDaniel stated he had forgotten to pick the gun up and left the store. Shortly af- ter leaving he remembered the he had laid the gun down, and called Rural King to ask them to check the bathroom. Rural King managers stated an em- ployee did check the bathroom, but did not locate the weapon. He also returned to the store to check the bathroom himself and did not locate the weapon. He then came to the McKenzie Police Department to report the weapon missing/stolen. Driving on Suspended Li- cense – Sharie Marie Kalis, of 486 Hamilton Street, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Pa- trolman Lorrie J. Mulligan on March 8. On that date, the of- ficer observed a silver car turn- ing onto Hwy 423 that only had one headlight working. A com- puter check of Ms. Kalis license revealed they were suspended for failure to satisfy citation on July 14, 2011. Ms. Kalis had no prior convictions of driving on suspended license. Ms. Kalis was cited into General Sessions Court for driving on suspended 31 and cited into City Court for headlight being out and no proof of insurance. The vehicle was released to Brent Billings of Huntingdon. Assault, Domestic Related – Tina Marie Pappas, of 15220 Highland Drive, McKenzie, was arrested and charged as noted by Patrolman Billy King on February 28. Upon arrival at the McKenzie Inn on Highland Drive in McKenzie, Mrs. Stella Zell was standing outside and stated that she and her daugh- ter had been arguing and she had went outside for fresh air and had been locked out of her room. Officer King approached and knocked on the door and confronted the daughter, Tina Pappas. She stated that the door had not been locked. Ms. Zell went back inside her room with her daughter. As officer King went back to his patrol car he heard an altercation from the room. He went back to the room and Mrs. Zell stated that Tina had shoved her. Mr. Jack Zell, Stella’s husband, also stated that he had witnessed Tina shoving Stella. Tina was arrested and charged with do- mestic assault and taken to Carroll County Jail. Theft from Motor Vehicle On March 10 a call was received to 192 Oaklawn in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Sgt. Nicholas Lowe spoke with Jef- frey and Ruth M. Umstead. The stated that someone had taken Mrs. Umstead’s purse out of their vehicle that was parked in the driveway. She advised that the last time she was the purse was about 4:00 p.m. She advised that her wallet, drivers’ license, social security card, birth cer- tificate, and three check books were inside the purse. All three books were drawn off the Bank of Gleason. At the time of the report no suspects have been identified. McKenzie Police Reports Shooting Threat •A warrant was issued for the arrest of an Atwood man March 6 after he allegedly threatened to shoot two Atwood residents at their own home. Deputy Carlton Cupples is- sued an arrest warrant on Fred- rick Horton Crawley, 32, of 322 Peggy Lane for aggravated crim- inal trespassing. Valerie Moore Crayton of 805 Highway 77A told officers that Crawley was stand- ing in her yard yelling when she and her son arrived at her residence. She said she asked Crawley to leave, at which point Crawley threatened to draw his gun and shoot both her and her son. Crayton said she then went inside and called authorities, and Crawley left the residence on foot. ••• Stolen Chainsaw •The Sheriff ’s Department is looking into the recent theft of a chainsaw from private property near McKenzie. Randall Lee Sellers told of- ficers that on March 1, someone broke into his shop and took a chainsaw with a 16-inch bar. Sellers estimated the value of the chainsaw at $300. ••• Car Vandalized •A vehicle was vandalized March 3 in the parking lot of a local nightclub. Duane Wickers of Milan told authorities that an estimated $2,200 in damage was done to his 2012 Dodge Charger in the park- ing lot of Grove Bar and Grill in Cedar Grove while he was inside the establishment. According to Wickers, both front tires were slashed, and the hood and fend- ers were scratched. ••• Driving Backwards with Drugs •A Buena Vista man was cited into court on a drug charge after an unusual traffic stop on March 3 in Trezevant. Deputy Jason Walker charged Joshua Lee Goode, 31, of 14535 Highway 114 with possession of marijuana. According to Walker’s report, he pulled over a red minivan driven by Goode after observing Goode driving backwards on Bryant Street. Walker reported that Goode told him that he had a small bag of marijuana in the vehicle. ••• •Disorderly with Drugs •A Huntingdon man was ar- rested March 6 on various drug charges after officers responded to a domestic call at the man’s residence. Joshua Hindman, 30, of 1870 Anark Road was charged with drug possession, drug equip- ment violations, and violation of probation. According to the report by Deputy Mike Verner, the Sheriff’s Department re- ceived a call that Hindman was engaged in disorderly conduct at his own residence. Officers also had a warrant for Hindman’s ar- rest on a prior failure to appear charge. Officers found Hindman in his bathroom, and when of- ficers tried to put handcuffs on Hindman, he allegedly pulled a pill out of his pocket and tried to put it in his mouth. Verner reported that he grabbed Hind- man’s hand and made him drop the pill. While searching Hind- man’s clothing, officers found a hypodermic needle loaded with liquid methamphetamine and pipes used for smoking meth. Carroll County Sheriff ’s Reports The Tennessee Highway Pa- trol will be conducting a Driver License Roadside Safety Checkpoint at 10:00PM on March 17 th , 2012 on U.S. 70 south of Griggs Chapel Road in Carroll County. Recogniz- ing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, Troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being oper- ated by drivers who violate the driver license laws of Tennes- see. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found Driver License Roadside Safety Checkpoints to be an effective means of en- forcing the driver license laws of Tennessee, while ensuring the protection of all motor- ists. Ms. Kalis was cited into General Sessions Court for driving on suspended 31 and cited into City Court for headlight being out and no proof of insurance. The vehicle was released to Brent Billings of Huntingdon.

Assault, Domestic Related

– Tina Marie Pappas, of 15220 Highland Drive, McKenzie, was arrested and charged as noted by Patrolman Billy King on February 28. Upon arrival at the McKenzie Inn on Highland Drive in McKenzie, Mrs. Stella Zell was standing outside and stated that she and her daugh-ter had been arguing and she had went outside for fresh air and had been locked out of her room. Officer King approached and knocked on the door and confronted the daughter, Tina Pappas. She stated that the door had not been locked. Ms. Zell went back inside her room with her daughter. As officer King went back to his patrol car he heard an altercation from the room. He went back to the room and Mrs. Zell stated that Tina had shoved her. Mr. Jack Zell, Stella’s husband, also stated that he had witnessed Tina shoving Stella. Tina was arrested and charged with do-mestic assault and taken to Carroll County Jail.

Theft from Motor Vehicle – On March 10 a call was received to 192 Oaklawn in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Sgt. Nicholas Lowe spoke with Jef-frey and Ruth M. Umstead. The stated that someone had taken Mrs. Umstead’s purse out of their vehicle that was parked in the driveway. She advised that the last time she was the purse was about 4:00 p.m. She advised that her wallet, drivers’ license, social security card, birth cer-tificate, and three check books were inside the purse. All three books were drawn off the Bank of Gleason. At the time of the report no suspects have been identified.

Shooting Threat•A warrant was issued for the

arrest of an Atwood man March 6 after he allegedly threatened to shoot two Atwood residents at their own home.

Deputy Carlton Cupples is-sued an arrest warrant on Fred-rick Horton Crawley, 32, of 322 Peggy Lane for aggravated crim-inal trespassing. Valerie Moore Crayton of 805 Highway 77A told officers that Crawley was stand-ing in her yard yelling when she and her son arrived at her residence. She said she asked Crawley to leave, at which point Crawley threatened to draw his gun and shoot both her and her son. Crayton said she then went inside and called authorities, and Crawley left the residence on foot.

•  •  •Stolen Chainsaw

•The Sheriff ’s Department is looking into the recent theft of a chainsaw from private property near McKenzie.

Randall Lee Sellers told of-ficers that on March 1, someone broke into his shop and took a chainsaw with a 16-inch bar. Sellers estimated the value of the chainsaw at $300.

•  •  •Car Vandalized

•A vehicle was vandalized March 3 in the parking lot of a local nightclub.

Duane Wickers of Milan told authorities that an estimated $2,200 in damage was done to his 2012 Dodge Charger in the park-ing lot of Grove Bar and Grill in Cedar Grove while he was inside the establishment. According to Wickers, both front tires were slashed, and the hood and fend-ers were scratched.

Driving Backwards with Drugs

•A Buena Vista man was cited into court on a drug charge after an unusual traffic stop on March 3 in Trezevant.

Deputy Jason Walker charged Joshua Lee Goode, 31, of 14535 Highway 114 with possession of marijuana. According to Walker’s report, he pulled over a red minivan driven by Goode after observing Goode driving backwards on Bryant Street. Walker reported that Goode told him that he had a small bag of marijuana in the vehicle.

•  •  ••Disorderly with Drugs

•A Huntingdon man was ar-rested March 6 on various drug charges after officers responded to a domestic call at the man’s residence.

Joshua Hindman, 30, of 1870 Anark Road was charged with drug possession, drug equip-ment violations, and violation of probation. According to the report by Deputy Mike Verner, the Sherif f ’s Department re-ceived a call that Hindman was engaged in disorderly conduct at his own residence. Officers also had a warrant for Hindman’s ar-rest on a prior failure to appear charge. Officers found Hindman in his bathroom, and when of-ficers tried to put handcuffs on Hindman, he allegedly pulled a pill out of his pocket and tried to put it in his mouth. Verner reported that he grabbed Hind-man’s hand and made him drop the pill. While searching Hind-man’s clothing, officers found a hypodermic needle loaded with liquid methamphetamine and pipes used for smoking meth.
