We will be honoring our high school, college and graduate school grads on Sunday, May 31. If you’re a grad, let us

know at TheWOCC.com/grads.

North American Christian ConventionJune 23-26 | Duke Energy Convention Center

Each year, the North American Christian Convention provides fellowship, encouragement, support, and new ideas to thousands of Christians from around the country. With workshops, worship, exhibits, and fellowship, their mission is to provide ideas, inspiration, and identity to churches, ministries, and their leaders.

We want to make sure that you do not miss what God will provide at the 2015 NACC. Make your decision now to register and then mark it on your calendar. Log on to GoToNACC.org for registration information.

Want to go for free? White Oak is in charge of the volunteer hospitality room and providing volunteers for the Women’s Luncheon. By volun-teering just four hours, you get a complimentary registration for the week. Contact Becky Bennett for details.

“Continue to remember those in prison as if

you were together with them in prison, and

those who are mistreated as if you

yourselves were suffering.”

Hebrews 13:3

Many persecuted Christians often feel isolated and alone since they are unable to fellowship with other believers. However, prayers from Christians half a world away have brought the same encourage-ment that fellowship would have for these persecut-ed Christians. Prayer is vital--not only as a direct line to God, but as a way to encourage our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

Prayer Night will be held at the Fernald Preserve Visitor Center in Ross.

Successful VBS in IndiaMore than 700 children in two churches gathered for Vacation Bible School in mid-April. Led primarily by their young adults, these programs are instru-mental in helping to introduce a new generation to Jesus. For the first time in 35 years, protestors tried to disrupt the programs, but to no avail. Praise God for His protection and intervention.

On Saturday, April 25, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal and neighboring countries. The death toll has reached more than 5,700, and reports indicate that this number may continue to increase as search and rescue efforts expand to vulnerable, hard-to-reach mountain villages. Thousands of people were injured and tens of thousands were left homeless.

As recovery continues, White Oak will continue to work with our ministry partners such as Matthew 25 Ministries, I.D.E.S, (International Disaster and Emergency Service), and I.C.O.M. (International Conference On Missions) to determine the specific needs of the victims.

This is a disaster of major proportions and will require long-term recovery efforts. Please pray for the people of Nepal during this time of need.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:• You can give through our offering by writing “Nepal Earthquake” in the memo line of your check and putting it in the offering any time this month.• You can give directly to our mission partners, International Disaster Emergency Services (www.ides.org) or Matthew 25 Ministries (M25M.org).• Pray for the people of Nepal, for the emergency workers there now and for those who will come in for long-term relief.

We will be working in the North Bend Habitat for Humanity Restore. The Re-store provides funding for Habitat’s mission of helping to alleviate poverty housing in our area. The stores do this by selling donated new and used appliances, furniture, cabinets, building products and household items to the general public.

For the last nine years Crossroads Community Church has gathered an army of vol-unteers impacting Cincinnati through service projects in a one-day, citywide blitz of compassion. Be a part of showing love to hundreds of schools, churches, neighbor-

hoods, social agencies and non-profits to put your faith in action and to say thank you for the work they do in our community. The goal is to complete 500 projects with over 10,000 volunteers!

This is an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization helping the poorest of the poor locally, regionally, nationally and inter-nationally regardless of race, creed or political persuasion. By rescuing

and reusing products from major corporations and manufacturers, Matthew 25 Ministries provides basic neces-sities, nutritional supplements, educational materials, micro-enterprise supplies and disaster relief across the US and worldwide.

(Green Twp Campus)Help us put on a Reverse Car Wash with WOCC Green Twp. Campus! This is an opportunity to show the West Side love and get the word out about our Green Twp. Campus!

Volunteers pack ingredients into food packets. The packets are sent to children to help them recover from malnutrition and save them from a painful and prolonged death by starvation.

COMPASSION GIFT FOR MISSION PARTNER

office construction update

On March 21 it was our honor to present a check for

$20,000 to the Christian Benevolent Association. CBA

is one of our mission partners who ministers specifi-

cally to retired senior adults. Our guest preacher

at the Colerain Campus that morning was Dick

Crabtree, former White Oak minister and one of the

founders of the CBA. Because of your generous sup-

port of ENGAGE, seniors adults who are in financial

need can continue to be cared for at Mt. Healthy

and Mason Christian Villages.

Barring complications, we are set to move into the new office space just after Memorial Day weekend. At that time, work can begin on the “heart” of our construction project -- the new space for our children’s min-istry at the Colerain Twp Campus. This updated and modern children’s space is possible because White Oak is committed to making a difference in our community and in our world!

Four years ago, White Oak began serving as Whiz Kids tutors for third and fourth graders at Weigal Elementary School. When the kids were ready to move on to middle school, we worked with City Gos-pel Mission to help pioneer a new tutoring program called WK Unplugged for middle school kids.

This month we are celebrating our first Whiz Kids graduation! 00 of our students have been with us from the beginning. We’ve watched them grow in confidence and skill level and have had the won-derful opportunity to build into their lives and share with them and their families on a personal level.

On Sunday, May 17 we will be honoring our WK Unplugged grads in the morning worship service. Please help us make our guests very welcome!

Many, many thanks to Kevin Wiesner (pic-tured here with Jacob who he has tutored for four years) and his crew of great tutors for all their

hard work in making WK Unplugged a reality!
