These web applications have limited functionality.

Capgemini – IBM Mobile 2.0 Solution Architecture

1 Mobile Innovator will deliver the user experience and the functionality of native mobile applications but will deliver the business functionality using portlets that are shared across the supported platforms. This dramatically cuts down costs and time to market.

2 Functionality can be easily added without releasing a new version of the mobile application. End user does not need to download and install new version to use new functionality.

3 Mobile Innovator extends the Portal Solution by delivering a native application on the device that utilizes the capabilities of the device which are not available to web applications (e.g. address book, camera, photo library, SIM) and integrates these capabilities with the portal. This will enable the client to deliver advanced and rich applications for web and multiple mobile (smart)phone platforms without writing device specific applications.

4 Mobile Innovator will use the mobile portal’s capability to deliver web applications to devices that do not support native applications, supporting approx. 6000 devices. These web applications have limited functionality.
