Principal’s News

Our new COLA in the “old quad” has been finished and wow, what a structure. Students have started to already use the space and it promises to be a great shade provider during summer. The next stage for this area will be the construction of the outdoor chessboard and upgrade of the Year 12 area. On behalf of the students and staff at CHS I would like to wish the 18 athletes representing our school at the Western Area athletics carnival later this week all the best. I would like to thank our P&C for their efforts in organising new CHS athletic singlets for the students to purchase and wear at the carnival. This coming weekend all local schools will be participating in the 24 hour Tractor Trek to raise funds for the Little Wings charity. It would be great to see people come along and support such a worthy cause. This year, prior to subject selection and timetable development, the school is seeking your feedback on our current curriculum offerings across the school. A short survey is included in this week’s newsletter and I would like to encourage all parents to complete what they can before returning to the school by Friday, 2nd August. Students and staff will also complete a similar survey so as we can obtain a whole of school community perspective. Congratulations to Blake Tyson on being last week’s winner of the school canteen voucher. Neryle Smurthwaite Principal
